The hotel, located at the centre of the downtown, was very convenient for us to move anywhere. Besides, a few interesting establishment such as Sule Pagoda, Independence Tower, Bangali Mosque, Aung Sun Market etc. are very close. Swedagpn Pagoda and Inya Lake are not far from the place too.

This is right downtown which is great and next to sule pagoda. They offer a fine breakfast and there is good tv in the room. However, there are no windows, the room is really dusty, the shower had no curtain, the toilet seat had a crack, and the wifi was so so. The people are friendly but that is about...

As others have said the May Shan is in a great location. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was too small for the bed and furniture. My other half had to exit from the foot of the bed and squeeze by to get to the washroom. We too, found the AC fan too much and had to turn...

We used this hotel for our first 3 nights in Myanmar, another night in the middle of our holiday (waiting for an internal flight) and our last night before leaving at the end of our holiday. The last two bookings were made only once we were in Rangoon, which is an indication of how satisfied we were with our first...

The most expensive and by far, the worst of all the hotels in which we had stayed during two-week trip in Myanmar. Extremely small bedroom with aggressive air conditioning blowing directly into the direction of the bed and impossible to set, so your options are a) to switch it off and to suffocate, b) to leave it on and to...

This hotel is cheap and that's a very good thing in Yangon. However, do not expect too much. The rooms are clean but really need a renovation. The bathroom was very old and ran down. It is clean but just very basic, without comfort or charm. The location is perfect, right next to Sule Pagoda. Many shops and local restaurants...

We stayed at this hotel during our first few hours in Yangon. We arrived in Yangon at around 4pm and had an early flight the next day. We needed a budget place to crash for a few hours that is also conveniently located near Sule and Shwedagon Pagoda. This hotel is located right across Sule Pagoda and the City Hall....

May Shan is undoubtedly in one of the best locations to roam around Yangon. Sule Pagoda and Mahabandoola Garden are 2mins walk. You can have photo op at the rooftop ang have those as your backdrop. It's 15mins walk to Chinatown and Bogyoke Aung San Market. When it comes to room, it's clean and comfortable. It's equipped w/ aircon, tv,...

Great central location near Sule Pagoda, near lots of great local restaurants. Staff is really sweet and helpful. It is walking distance to many great spots. Rooms are clean, basic with good television and wifi.

The May Shan is great option for budget travelers and/or those traveling without children. Centrally located to almost everything, this hotel provides a great launch point for exploring Yangon. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but absolutely provided the basics for a great start to the day. The rooms and overall hotel were clean but basic....
