The Hotel G in Yangon is a truly exceptional customer service experience. I have to say that the service standard in Myanmar (Burma) is generally very high and surpasses what one would normally expect anywhere with efficiency and a genuine sincerity. Back to the Hotel G specifically , every single staff member here has obviously been extremely well trained in hospitality. Without exception from the front door staff, the room staff, to the restaurant and the front desk staff, they all try very hard and excel at making you feel like a valued guest. I stayed in the hotel for a solid 2 weeks and had many interactions with the front desk staff who assisted me with many aspects of my visit. Both Mr. Myo and Mr. Teddy were immensely helpful to me on many different occasions. I fully expect both of these gentlemen to have successful careers in hospitality at a managerial level.

Some key points, the gym is an extremely well kitted out facility complete with; a squat rack, a full complement of dumbbells from light ones to over 100lbs, Hammer Strength machines and Life Fitness treadmills that are well maintained along with a punching bag and some "functional training" kit if that's your thing.

The room I had at the hotel was well appointed. The beds, linens and pillows are extremely comfortable and were what you would expect in a 4-5 star room, they spend money on guest comfort. The towels are of high quality and very clean. I did not see any insects at all inside the hotel during my entire 2 week visit which is exceptional in the tropics during monsoon season. The property is well maintained on every level.

The hotel is located in a vibrant area which while my first time staying in that specific part of town appears to be the best spot to be in with the very solid Babette Bistro (in the hotel) a very good French Bistro (1 block away), very solid Japanese restaurant (3 blocks away), a bakery (down the street), the Junction City shopping centre , as well as 2 churches all the while being close to magnificent tourist sights like the Shwedagon pagoda which I think has to be the most beautiful holy site in Asia.

If you need any directions or any assistance with any aspect of your stay the highly capable Mr. Myo will assist, his; attitude, competence and energy represent the winning attitude that this hotel and quite honestly this great country has, the entire team there deserve your business.

I am not one of the wealthy package tourists because I always travel on my own and without the help of travel agencies. And my requirements for a hotel are maximum comfort in a convenient location at minimal prices, this hotel completely satisfies itself. Excellent location in the center of Yangon, clean, newly renovated rooms, a wonderful restaurant on the ground floor with convenient opening hours (for Yangon this is very important, here everything dies out on the street after 21:00), diligent and well-spoken English staff, helpful to all requests, a flexible pricing policy - all these are important advantages for living in this place. So feel free to come!
For the sake of objectivity of the review, I found one small drawback for myself - in the Good category room (where I stayed) - for my European height and build, the bathroom seemed a little cramped; but in the end this is not super critical.

Clean hotel, well located with an absolutely brilliant gym and lovely staff!
However, the size of the first price rooms is tiny, which can be compared to a boat cabin...
The hotel restaurant is very lively on weekends, the food is good but a little expensive for a country like Burma...
The hotel buffet is delicious and varied.
We recommend this hotel but take the “superior” room.

I stayed for 2 weeks.

PROS:

Location, front desk service, and cleanliness are exceptional (10/10).
CONS:

There is no hot water in the shower; it's barely warm. Despite informing the staff multiple times, it couldn't be fixed.
There is no exhaust fan in the shower room, causing the entire room to smell like the shower.
One of the maids is quite presumptuous. On one occasion, I accidentally left 200 euros on the bed in the morning, which they took along with the bedsheets. When I reported it to the front desk, it was returned immediately. Another time, I had a thick pile of local kyat (about 900k) which I left in the room, but by evening, the pile seemed thinner and only 700k was left. I didn't report this to the front desk as I was unsure if the discrepancy happened during the exchange or if it was taken by the maid. There is a safe in the room, which I didn't use, so I consider this mostly my fault.
Wifi speed is 10 Mbps. You can play TikTok, but you can't watch a movie or send video files.

This hotel is truly a gem in downtown Yangon. The property has completely all the services you expect: restaurants, bars with a wide choice of food, beers and wine. It is a very modern hotel which says it all. If you arrive at night, as happened to me, by paying something you have the possibility of doing early check in, not bad. The rooms are spacious, bright and very quiet. However, the part that struck me so much is the availability of the guys who work there. I was pampered by these guys from the moment I arrived until I left, always caring that everything was going well, giving me tips on how to get to some places on foot and even asking me if I had solved the taxi problem for the night that he would take me to the airport. I thank Teddy, you are a great person with a heart of gold, your advice helped me a lot. Lemon, your sweetness and kindness won me over and Myo, thanks for the chat and your help. You are great. When I return to Yangon, this will be my base.

Hotel G was pretty new and it was impeccably clean. It was located in downtown Yangon, about 900 m from Sule Pagoda.

My room was smallish. The sink was located in the room itself. My room was on the 5th floor and it was quiet, even though the hotel was located on a busy street.

The receptionists talked excellent English. The doormen were happy to hail a taxi and negotiate the price for me (which they did well, the prices were lower than on the popular taxi app used in Myanmar).

The hotel didn't seem to have much guests, which is understandable as there were not much tourists coming to Myanmar when I was there. Breakfast was made to order and the order (including the time when you are coming for breakfast) had to be made the previous evening. The time window for having breakfast was between 8 and 10. As it started pretty late, I went to see the Shwedagon pagoda (a short and cheap cab ride from the hotel or 30 minutes walk) before the breakfast. The selection was eggs made to order and fresh pancakes or waffles. The quality of the breakfast was excellent, truly restaurant style.

i really love the vibes in there, also
the room, the service and especially breakfast so much better than even some of the luxury hotels, breakfast is not just even a general hotel breakfast it comes out from like a nice restaurant taste, also gym room,so many modern equipments they got and the instructors are very helpful and one of the good things i like is eye contact, they are very helpful and always watching out to help, and whenever we ask for some service, no need to wait so long for it as well, and i’m sure i be back there again and it is very suitable for long stay and short term also. i would say 8 out of 10 ~~
