Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar, is a nice three-star hotel located next to the Thuwunna Football Stadium, about 5 min walk from Tamive Train Station [(0,3 Km), Yangon Circular Train)] and about 15 min by car from the city’s center and about 20 Km from Yangon (Mingaladon) International Airport (25 min far away).
The Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium Hotel Hotel’s good location means that from the Hotel you can visit all the major sightseeing of the city easily by using public transport (the cheapest way), Taxi (also cheap choice) and/or the Grab cars (very convenient and less expensive than taxis, which could be ordered also from Hotel)
The service of the staff was amazing (at the reception, the rooftop restaurant and bar). The manager and staff of the hotel was nice, attentive and very helpful [ e.g. we left the luggage to go around Myanmar and returned (stayed another night) to leave the country] and we were glad to experience it.
The breakfast was included in the price and we were happy to have a wonderful start of the day enjoying a panoramic view from the 8th floor (Top Floor).
The Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium Hotel is a nice, comfortable (with nice bedding), stylish, economy hotel with excellent service [(social able, very kind and helpful, but a bit less speedy on the bar (have to wait for a drink)].
The room was up-graded to superior for my great satisfaction and it was very spacious, very clean, very bright, well designed, quiet, with very good bath and room amenities and with wonderful view to the stadium and the city.
In summary, I have enjoyed very much my stay at the Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium Hotel and I will stay again, if I will be in the area of Yangon (in Myanmar).

Wonderful feeling whenever I come back to the hotel. Sven's attention to detail is remarkable & he seems to be everywhere, all of the time! Kudos to the management for reassigning May Oo to 369, her personable & charming demeanour helps bring some laughter to an otherwise low key bar atmosphere. Chef Harry was very sociable as usual, which enhances the dining experience always. Staff members from front office to the breakfast cafe remember the little things such as preparing in advance my preferences during check in, (and) how I like to drink lots of water in the morning (smile). I had a nice upgraded room this time. The room was very comfortable, albeit the lighting was a tad dim. Overall, my colleagues & I can see that Sven's attention to detail is rubbing off to most of the staff members in the hotel!

This 4 star hotel is situated near the Yangon Stadium and is close to Myanmar plaza. It is a very affordable luxury with great customer service and a "YES" attitude. The GM is from belgium and he has created a great employee culture. They also have very well designed and modern business function rooms. Highly recommend.

The hotel is brand new (but the paint smell now negligible/ almost gone) and as such all room facilities are in top condition. The internet is very rapid (not normal in Yangon) and free. Rooms were large and spacious, facing away from the road its the quietest sleep I've had in yangon !

Restaurant/bar (for breakfast or diner) on the roof is a fun place as covered but open so get some good ambiance. Staff are friendly and food is good quality covering all options (German, Pizza, Thai, Myanmar).

For the price quality the hotel is a great option.

Location is NOT in downtown tourist centre, but taxis easy (and there is a car rental with driver service from hotel at a reasonable price) and only 10 mins - so again god location for leisure or business.

Traffic very busy 9-11am and 4-6pm but otherwise good for Yangon.

I have been staying at the Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium hotel while on business on and off since just after it opened in October 2016. This is a 4-star hotel masquerading as a 3-star. It is simply unmatched in Yangon for value for money. As many other reviewers have indicated, the staff are so friendly and helpful - an example of how young Myanmar people are ready to learn and strive to meet the expectations of customers.

The hotel is modern and distinctive. Reception on the ground floor is open plan and spacious with a coffee shop. The well-appointed and modern gym is also located in this area and there is a storage room for those of us who do not want to take all our belongings back and forth as we commute from home to Yangon. There are also computers available here for surfing the Web and there is an ATM. The check-in process is very welcoming and efficient.

There are meeting rooms on the 1st floor which can be rented by the hour. Refreshments are also available at a reasonable price per head.

Rooms vary in size and price. As a long-stay guest, I take a suite which is spacious, with a comfortable double bed, desk, TV, mini-bar, kettle with free bottled water and coffee/tea, and sufficient power outlets. Other rooms are smaller but not at all claustrophobic. Air conditioning works very well and the Wi-Fi is more than adequate. The bathroom is also modern and the plumbing is ok. Sometimes the water runs cold but a quick call to reception gets this fixed quickly. Water pressure is a little low, on the 5th floor at least. Laundry service is good and not too expensive. Put your laundry in before 9 a.m. and it comes back before the end of the day.

Electricity is still a bit of a problem in Yangon though less so than two years ago. However, when there is a power outage at the hotel, the generators kick in within seconds. Sometimes, I de-camp from my office back to the hotel to work when there is an outage because the power and Wi-Fi are more reliable.

The restaurant is located on the top 8th floor and there is also a rooftop bar. The menu ranges from European, Indian, Thai, Indonesian, to Myanmar cuisine. Highlights include the whole sea bass, the carbonara, the chicken curry Indian style, Myanmar soup, and the tenderloin with mashed potato and asparagus is to die for. We are hoping that new GM, Camille HARDOUIN, will bring some French influence to the menu in 2018! Breakfast is a mix of Asian and European. It is a little basic and monotonous but the egg station works well and my omelette is done perfectly! Coffee is provided by a machine which does a good Americano although my wife says the cappuccino is not up to scratch. There is fresh fruit and yoghurt, bread and cold cuts, muesli, and a toaster.

The rooftop bar is run by a highly experienced head barman, Ko Myo Hein, who specialises in some wicked cocktails. The bar area is open and spacious with bar stools and separate tables and a good view of the Shwedagon Pagoda which is lit up at night. There is also a view of the National Football Stadium and the National Indoor Stadium where occasional letwei and martial arts contests take place. There is a disco in the bar area which plays modern pop and house as background music although you can request anything that is on YouTube! The bar also has a pool table and football table.

The hotel has recently started to offer special festival nights such as Halloween and the New Year party was brilliant! You can book the rooftop bar for private parties as well.

The evening clientele is a good mixture of locals, ex-patriate business people, and tourists. The Ibis rooftop bar is becoming known as a good evening gathering place for all sorts. There is Myanmar Beer, Carlsberg, and three locally brewed Burbrit brews all on draught, as well as cans of Kaiserdom and bottles of Hoegaarden and Corona. There is also a range of whiskies (You can have your own bottle kept for future visits) and vodkas, as well as all the spirits you need to make some wonderful cocktails.

Taxi driver familiarity with the hotel, which has been mentioned in some other reviews, is becoming less of an issue these days but, in any case, reception can give you a map showing the location of the hotel in Myanmar and they will even write out directions in Myanmar upon request.

Aside from the nearby sporting venues, there are restaurants, bars, and a bakery within easy walking distance. A City Mart supermarket is also close. The Downtown area is 25-40 minutes away by taxi depending on traffic. It takes 25 minutes to get to the airport in the evening but, at other times, it is best to allow 45 minutes because of traffic.

The Ibis is located on a major East-West & North South junction. Given Myanmar drivers' tendency to beep politely at anything in close proximity, you may be bothered a little by late night and early morning traffic noise although I have become accustomed and do not notice it anymore. You can always request a room at the back of the hotel furthest from the crossroads.

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Yangon but the Ibis cannot be beaten for value for money. In fact, for long-stay, it is cheaper than renting an apartment and comes with a built-in social life! The staff are totally committed to providing the best experience they can for their customers. Thoroughly recommended by this seasoned business traveler.

This is a newly opened hotel in late 2016. It is not your typical Ibis Hotel as it has all the frills of a 4-star hotel including room slippers, full suite of toiletries and mini-bar. This hotel has a pretty spacious and well-equipped modern gym. The buffet breakfast, served at an aircon roof top restaurant, with a pleasant scenic view has a wide spread at USD 8 is sheer value for money. Every hotel staff that I met at the hotel is pleasant and helpful. As a Accor Club member, there are more perks. The GM of the Hotel, Mr Frank Weiss, extends a welcome greeting card. Upon check-in, all guests are served a welcome drink. As an Accor member, there is the usual welcome drink and even a generous welcome fruit platter. The gadgets in the room are all high tech and contemporary. Within 5 mins walk, there is an excellent and well-priced Chinese Restaurant called Furama Seafood. Within 10 mins walk, there are more eateries like Yikko and a small shopping mall called Junction Centre. The hotel is superbly splendid for my business trip - I get the comfy rest, good food and the daily workout in the gym. I can only hope that the hotel consciously chooses to charge a competitive room rate.

It was very lovely and unforgettable night here at the Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium. First, it's lovely, because we were warmly welcomed upon our arrival. The beds were comfortable and I like the contemporary interior design of the hotel. From its lobby, reception, cafe, up to their rooms. Ideally located for visiting some famous sights in Yangon. Unforgettable, because I forgot my passport at the airport. They really did their best to recover it. They also called some of the personnel at the airport, the cafe where I had my dinner, the money exchange outlet, etc. And I didn't expect they're still able to find it. I'm really thankful as the staff here are very helpful, professional, and willing to go the extra mile. I really appreciate the effort and I'm looking forward to staying here again when I get back in Yangon. Highly recommendable hotel when you are in the city of Yangon, Myanmar. Great work guys! You're all awesome and amazing! Keep it up! :)

An average hotel priced at around USD50 per night in November. Room was spacious but bathroom was disappointing, water drainage was so bad that it will be flooded whenever I showered. Roof top bar had a lot of flying insects Im not sure if that's beyond their control due to season/weather, or they do able to do something about it...

Dear valued guest. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on your recent stay. We are sad to read that your stay was not 100% meeting your expectations. Though we are grateful on you reporting the drain issue and have passed to our engineering team to fix it. There is indeed a challenge with insects flying in our 369 Rooftop open air bar. Kindly be informed that we have taken a lot of actions but this year after the rainy season the number of insects has never seen that high. Black light, pest control and additional insect repelling plants have been added. Again thank you for sharing your concern, and we are looking forward to welcome you soon again. Warm regards Sven Toune General Manager

Very clean and staff are very friendly. Breakfast menu is the same every day but very sufficient. The room rate is very reasonable as Well. It’s about 30 minutes to the airport. There is a nice grocery store nearby if you want to pick up some snacks or fruits. Only the internet cannot stay on for some reason.
