This hotel was supposed to be a "four-star-hotel" and the amenities list they provided on their website is as follows: Flat screen television Direct dial telephone Free WiFi 24 hours reception and room service Daily housekeeping Concierge facilities Tour desk Actually, they never mentioned any "amenities set" in the room. After I checked-in, I realized that room has non-adjustable air conditioning, no toothbrush, no shaving kit, and no hotel gown. A "four-star" hotel is not providing a toothbrush! I always have all the basic amenities in my suitcase so that was not a problem for me. For those expecting any basic "amenities set", you need to purchase in the store near the hotel (about 2 mins walk). Used the in house laundry services, the price was not cheap, but the service was terrible. As photos attached, the shirt they washed returned to me with stain (My shirt never had that stain before) on the back and the trousers they "ironed" were so wrinkled! The front desk service was absolutely disgusting. The taxi they arranged for me was a rip-off. And they ruined my airport transport booking by not contacting the bus driver for the pick-up time I informed them. The price they charged you was "four-star" but the facilities and services they provided were "two-star" (maximum). Doutable

The best place to stay in Port Vila, by far! The staff are incredible, the rooms are gorgeous (we opted for the deluxe ocean view each time), and everything was just perfect. Upon our arrival from a short trip to Tanna, we actually booked another place and literally left after a few hours and just accepted losing the deposit to go back to The Grand. Other places are nice, but you have to walk to restaurants, stores, etc. The location of The Grand is unbeatable. There’s a chemist across the road, tonnes of gift shops across the road and a few minute walk down the street, there’s a bottle-o pretty much across the road (and the doorman will not worry at all about you walking in with a case – hell yeah). The markets and grocery stores are also just a two minute walk down the street – it’s all there and so convenient. Obviously, there’s also a restaurant and bar within the hotel. The food was just amazing. I think both Tom and I got fish of the day every day for lunch haha. The boat to Iririki Resort is right next to the hotel as well, so we dipped over there for a swim and dinner one night. Super lovely as well. If you go later, they don’t charge a day pass, so we got lucky and had a lovely time. But, to be honest, we sat at dinner looking back at The Grand and just wanted to get back! Balconies are lovely and the TV reception was the best we saw in Vanuatu (we were a bit run down after Tanna, so really appreciated the comfort). The staff were a stand-out. Samuel, at the reception desk, seriously, deserves an award. He was incredible. Super helpful when our flight was cancelled and remembered us straight away when we returned after Tanna. He was beyond helpful and just an amazing person. Thank you, Samuel, for all for your help and making our stay in Vanuatu amazing. I feel we’re going back purely to stay at the Grand again!

Fantastic rooms with very cold air conditioning which is needed in Vanuatu heat. Staff are very friendly. Meals are excellent and cocktails are even better. Would definitely return as had a wonderful holiday with the family. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The view from the room is magical.

We booked via a fabulous travel agent. Lots of things disappointing us, awful Christmas lunch, lack of fresh towels in our room, small roaches in our room on several occasions, left a few coins out on the desk and they were gone when we returned to our room, reusing of pineapples for drinks and quite expensive.

Good location beside Port Vila Harbour, in town close to restaurants and cafes, grocery and other stores, markets, currency exchange, tourism office and other services. Started my holiday here to experience the capital and organise my currency, mobile sim card and day trips/tours. Took daily walks to the nearby bay promenade with its markets, cafes and parks. The hotel is the tallest building in Vila. From my higher floor deluxe room there were nice views of the harbour; sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. Good size room with large bed, small writing desk, good cupboard and drawer space, bedside tables with lamps, smooth tiled floor (take care, slippery when wet), small fridge, jug, coffee and selection of tea bags (black, green, earl grey, mint), separate tub and shower, basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), free wi-fi (okay to poor connection), tv, iron, daily housekeeping. The pool area was nice with lounges (only a few with umbrellas) and view of the bay (a shame about the wire fencing along the harbour edge). Pool size was just long enough to swim laps. Pool bar was closed while I was visiting but you can order at lobby bar and they bring drinks etc out to you (might be nice if someone came out to pool area occasionally to see if any guests would like any refreshments). Be careful in the pool bathroom as the floor is extremely slippery when wet (as it will be if you have just jumped out of the pool); I just saved myself in time from a nasty fall. Pool open sunrise to sunset so no early night swimming. Very friendly and helpful reception, and all the staff. Make you feel welcome. Lobby and restaurant are good. Enjoyed one breakfast at the hotel. Several room service meals were okay but probably better to eat in the restaurant or in town. No functional tour desk. A few negatives - noise from the nearby shipyard and LIT nightclub with its boom boom beat till 3 am (though the hotel has put in heavy glass balcony doors that help reduce most of the noise), congested hotel front (little parking or footpath area), balconies are close to one another and their position reduces some room privacy, wine glasses provided but no cork screw or bottle opener (bar offered to send someone to room to open my bottle but there were none available to borrow), water runs from shower into the room making the floor slippery. Despite the few negs I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It is in a good location, handy to attractions and services of Port Vila. Comfortable room, friendly staff.

Stayed here for three nights just recently. Not a bad location and the room was okay considering the location as well. Did ask five times for the TV to be looked at but never happened. Breakfast options were all fine and the hotel was clean as well. Front desk staff tied hard but like the TV not always able to make things happen

The Grand needs a serious paint job on the exterior, the interior not so bad. The room we had was comfortable although I suspect we had one of the lesser rooms being on the first floor. It was reasonably spacious with a balcony, comfortable bed and shower and bath. We ate in the restaurant several times and found the food quite good and reasonably priced. The breakfast was excellent with an egg station and lots of options. Very close to the centre of town. An ATM front.

The hotel is clean and comfortable in a central location, with nice views of the harbour. The staff are also friendly and helpful. However, the noise from the nightclub next door that went on until 3am made for a miserable sleep and means I would not stay here again.

Be aware at this hotel cleaners Dora and Evelyn would look in the draws where you keep your personal belongings apparently it’s the policy of the hotel !! God knows what else they do whilst they clean your room. And If they find soap in your draw they won’t give you any! Lock your belongings away!!
