It’s a great base to stay as it’s close to town and a nearby plaza. Staff are lovely and rooms are fine. Could do with better wifi it drops out all the time and barely connects. Pool is nice and the bar cocktails are yum. Breakfast is average cereal, toast etc Just check your bill at checkout they tried to charge for the free breakfast and the two nights we had already paid. Was going to stay two nights but we stayed for our whole stay. Thanks guys!

It's an extraordinary base to remain as it's near to town and a close by court. Staff are dazzling and rooms are fine. Could improve wifi it exits constantly and scarcely interfaces. Pool is overall quite the bar mixed drinks are yum. Breakfast is normal oat, toast and so on Just check your bill at checkout they attempted to charge for the free breakfast and the two evenings we had just paid. Planned to remain two evenings however we remained for our entire stay. Much obliged folks!

We were put up here by Air Vanuatu while having to wait 2 days for a cancelled flight to be rescheduled. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a Harbourside room which was lovely - had an outdoor deck area overlooking the water - and was away from any noise from the restaurant/bar area (which seemed to close early anyway). Quiet comfortable location close to town attractions. Food was good and pool was nice. A nice oasis until we got to our destination.

We booked and paid through through Expedia to stay at the Moorings in March 2018 for a very special celebration.
Unfortunately our flight was cancelled. Whilst our reservation was made on the basis of no cancellation, despite our pleas to the hotel to give us a credit for us to stay at a later date our request was denied.
I believe this is grossly unfair and despite my assurances to the hotel that we would spend money in their bars and restaurant at a later date.
We’re now thinking of going to Vanuatu when we’re allowed to travel but will have second thoughts about staying at The Moorings!

We stayed here for a week and this is nothing like the pics. We thought we would be staying on the ground floor as per the pic next to the pool, however we were on the 2nd floor. All the rooms are so small you can not swing a cat in them and the ensuite can only fit one person in at a time. Very small. Extremely noisy hotel. Dripping taps, slamming doors due to no softening placed on the swing of door hinge to make it close slower. Uncomfortable beds. No pool table as website stated. Water activities we had to pay for. However, this is more of a motel, not a hotel. Very old and run down. Breakfast is very ordinary and not worth eating at the Moorings. We went out for breakfast. We went to the Warick Resort whilst here and found that this is the resort type of accommodation we were looking for. It didn't cost anymore either to stay in a 5 star hotel with a full hot buffet breakfast and freshly cooked pancakes, omelet, bacon included in price. Don't worry about being close to the airport /town as being a reason to book here. It is only 150vatu from the Warick to the Airport or into town by 'B' bus. All water activities are free as well there. After seeing both and staying at both, I would never go back to the Moorings even if it was only $50 a night Australian money. So not worth it. Feel very ripped off indeed.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay in a Harbourside queen room. The room was comfortable, yet quite small but the beautiful view over the water made up for that. The meals we had at the restaurant were delicious, generous in quantity and fairly good value as were drink prices, particularly during happy hour between 5 and 7pm, with 20% off. Our flight was delayed so we arrived after midnight but reception stayed open so we could check-in. Included continental breakfast was sufficient with cereal, fruit, tea, filter coffee and toast (Vegemite even available). Centre of town a pleasant walk along the waterfront in around 15 minutes. Well-priced/affordable/ value for money. Sunsets are gorgeous from this place.

Nice little hotel. Rooms are very small so probably wouldn't stay a long time but was good for the overnight stay because Air Vanuatu cancelled our flight. Looks over the water and pool is nice. Nothing outstanding but a nice little hotel

5 night stay with family. Rooms a little outdated, but clean and air conditioning works great. Only a 10 minute walk to centre of town . Staff are fantastic. Breakfast is very basic. Most of the meals we had at resort were great. The resort could do with updating, but it has a good friendly feel as soon as you walk in . They charge 5% credit card fee and also only give you 65 Vatu against AUS dollar when all other exchange shops pay 77 Vatu. Little disappointing.

We do consider your comments on the exchange rate of 65 vatu,however we do always advice our clients of that there is much better rate at the bank and Goodies Exchange in town as each property have their own foreign exchange rate. We stayed in March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic started and we could not get flights home, we met other guest from many other countries in the same situation as us stay at the hotel. We all became great friends with guest and with Anita and all the staff at The Moorings and became known as the “Corona family. The staff treated us very well in the difficult times as we didn’t know when we could get home and how long we were staying in Vanuatu. The food was very delicious and great value, as were the drinks, rooms were comfortable and clean, location is very handy to the centre of town. Moorings staff were excellent! We stayed at moorings for 10 days , 5 of those days were due to air Vanuatu cancelling 5 flights. The staff ensured we had a room after each cancelled flights and helped us with finding information that air Vanuatu would not supply us. The staff was wonderful and ensured we were informed and had rooms and meal vouchers. For us for all cancellations although they were not informed by air Vanuatu , we can’t thank them enough for looking after us. Monique and Hana were wonderful in ensuring we were looked after in what would have been more stressful without there continued help. Cannot recommend this place more. Thank you Moorings!

Our dining is regarded as one of the best value for money dining in Vanuatu. We invite you to visit our official website, where you will find a copies of our beverage and main menus, along with the weekly lunch and dinner specials. Guidelines forbid us to provide links on forums, apologies.
I believe the above replies have covered the weather. Still considered the tropical wet season although the pattern changes all the time. 28-32 degrees Celsius on average. Humidity varying between 85-95%. Our waterfront location however provides outstanding ventilation and very comfortable cooler evenings.
An official airport shuttle is priced at 1500VT per person, one way. A taxi is between 1200-1500VT one-way.
