Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had been before COVID and I thought I got value for my money because it was right on the water with a sea breeze and I could cook my own meals. But this time I could only stay one night before I had to go and find better accommodation. My room was not ready for me, and the cell I was put into had big black moths flying around, everything was dirty and run down. The drain in the shared shower room was blocked with stagnant water. When I saw that there was no water in the pool that was the last straw and I paid for one night and left.

The hostel is not very close to the city center (5 min by bus, half an hour on foot), literally on the sea (coral shoes recommended to access the reef at low tide). Ample rooms with own kitchen and toilets, lots of space to socialize: friendly staff, WiFi present but poor and very localized. Very good price/service ratio.

The Bluepango Motel is located right on the beach and we enjoyed snorkelling out to the reef which is just 100 m off shore. There was a little shop around the corner where you could buy snacks, water, bread and so on. What we loved was that the owner provided kitchen utensils such as pots and pans and there was a stove in our room which we could use.

Spent 3 nights here a few weeks back, literally the worst hostel ever only good thing is location being right near the sea (no beach right outside). Dirty in bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen, can’t lock the door to the dorms unless inside, fly nets with holes in and window slats missing, pool unclean, building work on owners house which starts at 8am for the whole day. Seems to be the cheapest place in port villa but worst experience

First time, the owner Peter is a really kind person !! Everytime ready to help you and he is really patient. The place is super nice as a fresh wind is always set there sweeping the mosquito and making you feeling good as Vanuatu is pretty hot. I've never find such a good wind in efate. You can sleep hearing a small sweet sound of waves as blue pango is right front of the ocean. A big kitchen is available for you and a fridge so you can all the time take the time to cook good meal. Thank you Peter again, and see you next time !!

We had a wonderful relaxing week at Blue Pango Motel, we loved being so close to the ocean, you can lie in your bed and watch the waves, feel the cool breezes and enjoy swimming at the little beach with the local kids, who at a very young age love to ride surfboards. Our room was comfortable, clean and had good facilities to be able to cook our own food from the market or supermarket if we wished. The owners are pleasant, friendly and kind and offer excellent room prices. We would highly recommend this motel, it is awesome!

from the center about 10 minutes by shared taxi (150 v, 1.2 €) that continuously pass the road. there is a sign on the road and then down a dirt road about 200 meters to this hotel owned by a family of Koreans. I had the bad luck to be with a group of French young people who made a lot of noise, but the place is very cool, by the sea, with a small beach, and the sound of the sea all night is very rewarding. The hbaitaciones are not soundproof so if you do not have good neighbors you will hear all their sound. price: 3300 dollars of vanuatu ,, about 27 €. Bed not very comfortable and pillow bad.

If this was listed as a hostel it wouldn't have been the worst place I've stayed in, but would still be pretty bad compared to most hostels. Owners are lovely, unfortunately, the place is pretty bad. Listed room as ensuite, with kitchen and aircon. Aircon did not work. Bathroom was very run down and had cockroaches. Kitchen was just a stove and sink (no electric kettle or microwave etc), all cookware was by the owners flat and were all pretty dirty (had to wash everything before using), and no soap or towels for washing/drying dishes were provided. Dogs barking and people around at night kept waking us up as the windows have no glass and only have a mosquito net and wooden slats. Many of the electric sockets were either not working or in a very dangerous state that no one in their right mind would try to use them. The bedding were random colours/patterns and stained.... secondhand white bedding wouldn't be expensive and bleach is also cheap for any stains customers leave.... as a customer it isn't possible to tell 100% whether a mark on bedding is a dirty sheet or a stain, so stain free bedding is essential. Also, on arrival the son told us to wait until his Dad arrived to check into the room, but he didn't tell his Dad when he arrived so ended up waiting a few hours by the room. Giving a 2 instead of a 1 just because the owners were pleasant people.
