It doesn’t get more BEACHFRONT than these modern, self-contained, air-conditioned apartments built right on the beach. It’s the perfect place where Self Contained rooms meets Resort Facilities. Our on-site Pool Bar & Café is there for when you don’t feel like cooking in your room. With options for everyone from Fun Kids Meal Boxes, Meat and Vegetarian favourites and also many vegan options coming onboard. Enjoy free use of Bicycles, Stand Up Paddleboards, Kayaks and even a Beach Volleyball Court where you can catch a game against our staff. Kids can enjoy our outdoor pirate ship playground or venture to the indoor play area loaded with games, books and toys to keep them entertained. Our friendly staff are always ready to lend a hand with the kids to allow some ‘time-out’ for yourselves. Paddleboarders and families with children love the calm waters of our sandy beach as we are free from Vila’s notorious corally coast and surf waves. No reef shoes needed here!

Detailed Reviews
Our apartment was a very good size and very clean. The resort is small but very friendly with a great cafe, pool and beach right out the front. Our apartment was serviced daily and tea etc replaced. About 50 metres up the beach is a beach bar that has a very funny free circus, Vanuatu style, every Sunday evening. The ladies at the resort were very helpful and looked after us very well . One thing we found very useful, as we were told not to drink the tap water, was a barrel filled with rain water that you could get jugs of water from. Hideway Island is a walk away at low tide or a ferry ride to snorkel in a marine sanctuary and lunch. If you want 5 star luxury this is not the place for you BUT if you want friendly, comfortable right on the beach apartments then this will suit you very well.

We have visited Vanuatu every year since 2007 (excluding 2020 & 2021) and were delighted to be back at the "Beachfront" for our 6th stay in this excellent accomodation. Staying for 3 weeks this time, in a 2 bedroom aprtment with bathroom, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher and cooking facilities (if you wish to self cater),and fully serviced. The pool was 4 steps from the front door looking out over the placid Mele Cove beach which was less than 20 steps away. There is a bar and small restaurant on site, where the staff will cook for you if you do not wish to cater for yourselves. They will provide makings for a BBQ with meat, salads, bread etc, (plenty for all) and you can cook your own on the well maintained BBQ provided. The staff will bake fresh bread on request for you to make your own lunches in the fully decked out kitchen, or you can order at the restaurant for them to make your lunches.
There are kayaks and stand up paddle boards to use (including life vests), a volleyball court, push bikes and a small childrens play ground and sand pit for the little ones. With a kids club to help keep the children entertained while the adults relax with a cocktail or Tuska. The new staff since Covid-19 reopening did a wonderful job keeping up the good standards set by the owners. Their caring, friendly and happy smiles made our stay, most enjoyable. See you next year

Thank you for your excellent review. We were so glad that you decided to return to VBA "Post Covid". There has certainly been some major challenges re-opening Vanuatu but its is so exciting that we are open again. The VBA family and all of Vanuatu are so charged and excited to see visitors back. I cannot wait to see you back next year when the world settles down and we can have few cocktails on the pool deck.

Our Vanuatu Beachfront Apartment was simply perfect for our family. Our family of 5 (including 3 adult daughters) rented the 4 bedroom penthouse where we were able to make good use of the fully equipped kitchen and BBQ facilities (ability to self cater is important when I’m paying for 5 adults). We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfasts sitting on the deck overlooking Mele Beach and Hideaway Island.
The location was great. Mele Beach is sheltered and calm - great for swimming and using the kayaks and SUP boards. Hideaway Island and fabulous snorkelling is a short stroll away, the Beach Bar and the famous Friday night fire show is a few minutes along the beach.
We hired a car for the week and found that Mele Beach is a great base location for getting around Efate and seeing all the sights.
Most of all, the Vanuatu Beachfront staff are brilliant. We were very sad when it was time to leave these beautiful and generous people.

We stayed for a week and over all are very happy with our stay. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 teenage boys.
Location is perfect right on the beach and with amazing views of the sunset from the deck.
Our 2 bedroom apartment was a great size and had a well equipped kitchen to make cooking easy. This also saves money as eating out all the time can be costly. Housekeeping daily if you would like it. All the staff are more then helpful with things around the grounds or knowledge of things to do and see. We were lucky to be taken through the local village and hand out lollypops and school supplies to some of the local children.
We used Karol a few times for easy and fast trips into town and back. Later at night when a local bus can be harder to get this is a great bonus.
The breakfast that is included was more than enough and has a good variety to choose from just needed to supply more spread with the toast as most mornings wasn’t enough to put on half the piece of toast.
Made the time between checkout and leaving for the airport comfortable with the use of a shower so that we could make the most of our time and take 1 last swim and paddle board.
Unfortunately we only ate here once as even though the food was tasty 2 chicken wings and a handful of chips for 1100VT isn’t enough to fill teenage boys and expensive.
Be careful when taking out the kayaks as half of them have holes in them and start to sink. This could be very dangerous for non confident swimmers.
Thank you to the staff for making our first trip to Vanuatu special.

We opted to stay here after a week in Port Vila for quick and easy access to Hideaway Island for Snorkelling.
The location was stunning, right on the beach with the most fantastic sunsets each evening. The locals use the beach regularly and it was lovely to see the kids and families playing and having fun in the sea.
The studio apartment was fantastic, large double bed which was very comfy, sofa bed, kitchen facilities and good sized bathroom all overlooking the pool area. Air con worked great, keeping the large room cool.
The price included free breakfast with lots of options (toast, yogurt, cereal etc) and lunch and dinner was also available at the resort which was great and very good value. The cocktails were the best and cheapest we had tried in Vanuatu!
You can also purchase basics such as milk, break etc at the resort which is extremely handy to avoid having to go into Port Vila.
Just up along the beach from the apartments is Mele Beach bar which offers more food and drink options. Over the weekends they put on a fire show which we really enjoyed but book a table as it is very popular (table 2 was our favourite table as it was directly under a fan which was needed in the hot weather).
The staff were fantastic, extremely helpful and friendly.
This is a little gem of a place and we will definitely be back!

Enjoyed 9 nights here and hope to be back. I stayed solo in Santos (room 3) which would sleep up to 3 and has small kitchenette and microwave. Room clean and quiet (some rooster crowing and dogs barking for light sleepers) but the soothing sound of waves can be heard even though this isn't a beach facing room. Transfers to and from airport and a light breakfast were included. Staying here gives you options to do as much or as little as you like. Walk along the beach, take the regular boat to Hideaway Island, $25AUD on arrival to snorkel, bring your reef shoes, Fire show is at Beach Bar on a Friday, take a local B-Bus at end of street to Port Vila, visit the Mamma markets. I loved the Blue Lagoon. Consider looking at tide times (aiming for high tide late morning) for snorkelling. Damien and Juliet put a lovely island dinner on for guests with a band on our 2nd night. Bonus to be there for Melanesian Festival and Children's Day. Lovely to meet Sylvie and her family. I enjoyed water colour painting and have so many wonderful photos for future works.

A great quiet location with stunning views over to Hideaway Island, while either swimming in the pool the ocean or sun bathing. Clean A/C room. Very welcoming friendly staff & the cafe food is delicious with a minimum variety but tasty with Cold beer or cocktails. The Beach Bar just 100m walk along beach for a beer or feed & entertainment Friday nights. Would stay here again.

This was our second stay at this great spot. A well-appointed two bedroom apartment was ideal for us with two teenagers and we had a mix of self-catering using the bbq, using the on site cafe and eating out.
Michelle and her team are wonderful hosts, super-friendly and very helpful and daily room service made it even more relaxing.
Mele Beach is one of the best spots in Efate Island for all day swimming, plus paddle boarding and kayaking.
Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back again.

The location, staff and facilities are great. Rooms are clean, cool and perfect for self catering. Busses within a 5 minute walk into town if you want to self cater or use the restaurant on site. From the moment we were picked up from the airport everything has been amazing. 100% recommend. You will come back.

This really is a great place to stay in Efate.
A beautiful, quiet, sandy beach stretches in both directions and the water is very safe for swimming. Only a few minutes walk to the Beach Bar (good for dinner, Friday fire show and Sunday circus), and the snorkelling on Hideaway Island is well worth the 2000 vat island fee. Tanna Coffee is only about 30 walk up the beach, good for coffee and a meal or snack. We bought tasty pawpaws and local cakes from nearby shops and roadside stalls. Easy to catch one of the local busses to town (300 vat).
Our unit was beside the deck, where we ate breakfast and dinner, and had a beer while the sun set. Comfortable and clean room. Bus on site for airport transfers and tours.

Yes, that is exactly correct. We have scheduled times, but we are extremely flexible with this and work in with our current guests. Our girls are available anytime, so just let us know what you need and we make it happen. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Damien
Hi Kathy, how many adults/children are on your group?
The Beach Bar is on the same beach as us - about 100 metres down - they have deck chairs on the beach you can use.
Do you just want to use beach chair outside our resort or are you wanting to take them off-site somewhere else? How many adults/children are in your group? Thanks, Damien
Hi Kathy, sure - this is something we can organise easily. How many adults/children are in your group? We also operate a tour/transport business so I can quote to collect you from the terminal and return you to boat or into town for further shopping.
