We stayed for 4 nights though we didn't arrive until 12.30am due to the evening flight, so basically had 3 full days. We were in a beach front farè, # 105, which we considered the best as it was right next to the dining room, and had an unobstructed view of the surf beach, where we could watch the surfers. This is a completely sandy resort. The only paving is the front path leading to reception, bar and the dining room. Even though we were so close, we still had to walk on mostly compressed sand, so the resort is not suitable for wheelchairs or guests who may need a walker. The thatched roof farès are very large and clean with a small balcony and 2 chairs. Inside you have a king-sized bed and a day bed which we utilised for our gear. There's no luggage stands or chairs, so suitcases were left on the tiles. There's a safe, kettle, iron, fan, though no aircon, fridge and a large seperate bathroom with outdoor shower. All the farès have them, and I found it delightful showering under the sun or stars, but it does get breezy. I wouldn't know how you'd get on showering in heavy rain. There's a lock to the bathroom and we locked it every night before going to bed. It'd be easy for a nimble person to climb up the high rock wall. (I read this happened in a TA review). That said, we loved our stay and felt completely safe. If you're a light sleeper, request a farè close to reception as the ones at the end of the resort are near some roosters who crow at 4am. Again, another guest told me this. There's limited activities as most tend to relax or go on tours. We had a cooking class included, but it's on a Tuesday and we weren't there. Have cash for tours, which is paid to the driver or tour operator, not the tour desk. Note they cannot be put onto your account. This applies to Fiji as well. The pool and gardens are lovely. Reserve your table and where you'd like to sit for dinner, whether pool side or the seperate dining area. There's a small hut than can be booked for a private dinner to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, right next to our farè. The excellent restaurant is run by Italians with prices comparable to a good restaurant in Australia. Dessert was expensive and very limited. 2 choices, small servings and $15.80 each. My husband asked for just icecream and was charged $15.80 for 3 scoops of ordinary icecream??? We discovered the local shop across the road and bought an icecream for only a few dollars after that. They're open until 9pm. There's no non alcoholic beer available for non drinkers. We loved our stay at this friendly resort and are heading to The Havannah tomorrow for the remainder of our holiday. …
