When we arrived we were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist and assistant (Lesieli and Nipa). Straightaway we felt welcome. We asked if we could be upgraded, we got a room with a huge balcony and great view of the lagoon. They told us that we had free Internet, and TV a bonus! The suites are basic, but were adequately...

When we arrived we were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist. Felt very welcome, more like we were visiting family than a hotel. We were also upgraded from a standard one bedroom to a 2 bedroom suite with a huge balcony and great view of the lagoon. Free Internet, free TV. The suites are basic, bugs though. I think it's...

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is in a very quiet location, located right next to the lagoon. We found the staff to be excellent, nothing was to much trouble, the hotel receptionist Lesieli was absolutely incredible arranged transport and cooked a great Aussie breakfast bacon, eggs, tomatoes, sausages, toast etc each morning of our stay as continental...

I recently stayed at the lodge. It suited my needs, lay ed back and relatively quiet, with a good view of the Lagoon. The staff were friendly professional and helpful planning activities. The room was clean and tidy. The fittings and fixture's showed signs of wear. How ever a maintenance program was under way. The continental breakfast was fresh, extras were...

My husband and I arrived in Nukualofa and stayed at another hotel which did not have cooking facilities. We spent a month here and needed a hotel with cooking facility. The staff really helped us with whatever we needed. We were the only ones staying so we had a great time. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment (# 102)...

Quite basic and a bit out of town. Lagoon Lodge is probably best for families. It faces on to the Lagoon - no swimming there though. Reasonably quiet (dogs, roosters and sometimes traffic are the potential problems on Tonga tapu) A bit expensive for what it offers. Generally we didn't find any middle upper range accommodation in Tonga Tapu that...

Location was out of town, but we didnt mind. Taxis cost between $4-$10 each way. When we arrived it was late at night. turns out that our room wasnt what we had asked for (not enough beds) so without hesitation they upgraded us to a superior suite on the top floor! we thought this was great - lots of room...

Beware the nice photos and talk of a pretty lagoon (read mossie infested hell hole!) This was the worst experience we have had to endure. A nightclub over the road with VERY LOUD hideous music, awful breakfast, expensive transfers (crazy driver on a death wish to airport because she arrived 20 minutes late!) no pool (no nothing to be fair)...

As we planned our around the world trip for our honeymoon we had a 'free 4 day stopover' in Tonga due to it's location (It's all done on mileage).. However, when we tried to organise anything from the UK it proved very difficult, largely due to 'Tonga time'. As a result we waited until we got to NZ and booked...
