Stay in the new section! I stayed in both and there is a difference. The new section has the best beds! Great location for shopping with a pharmacy across the road, an exceptionally fine cafe next door, the pool is clean, the staff are very helpful and professional, their Japanese restaurant is excellent.

Hotel looks very 'Resort' like from the outside. The 'Captains' restaurant offers great service. Stopped here for coffee and to relax. The hotel in it self is a higher end Solomon Island Hotel. Can recommend you to check this out if you are staying over night in Honiara.

Very disappointed with our stay. Arrived very late, after a delayed ferry from Tulagi. At first things looked promising as the lobby is clean and expensive looking. However, upon arriving in the room, we were less than impressed. Old and tired, the bed is on wheels, so whenever you move the whole bed also moves. Unappealing brick walls. The pool...

I first came here in March 1972 which might give you an insight to the hotels age. Honiara was a relatively simple and unsophisticated place then. The Mendana, at that time, was the best accommodation available. Great location, good accommodation and good food. Goodness, how things change over the years. Yes, some parts of the hotel have been refurbed over...

It Was a public holiday , only payment was by credit card and we needed to eat . So 7 tired and hungry visitors arrived at this Hotel Dinning room. We had 2 hours between flights. The Hotel entrance was like an Oasis coming from a dusty ; noisy and very crowded street scape. . We chose the light lunch...

The lobby area of this hotel opens to covered, but open seating in comfortable chairs around tables where guests congregated to have a drink, talk, read, and relax. The "path" to my room was a seies of ascending a de descending stairways and ramps. The room was basic and not in the best condition. Air conditioning was very weak. Loud...

This is a decent, average hotel in Honiara. I have stayed there twice, on my way to smaller islands in the country. Rooms are spacious, but one of them was smelling like cigarettes, even though I asked for a non-smoking room. The hotel does not have elevators, and has a lot of stairs, which was a bit complicated for us,...

We had the misfortune of spending 3 nights in this hotel. On our first visit, the air conditioning and toilet were not working in our room. There were no elevators, but staff helped to carry up our heavy luggage. The public restrooms were pathetic and never had any paper towels or any way of drying hands. Service in the restaurant...

Our local friends advised us the buffet on a Wednesday night was a must while in Honiara , they were not wrong ! You must book in advance and you will find your reservation name printed on your designated table. Seems this is a local favorite as many families use this as their weekly night out, at 1845 they are...
