Stayed here before going out on a Jungle survival course (and a for a few nights upon our return). I have a great fondness for this hotel. What works: the AC worked, the TV worked, the rooms were clean, had hot and cold water and the staff worked really hard. The front desk were helpful with taxis and bookings. The...

This hotel is not somewhere I would ever choose to stay, I was put up here for work. The rooms are dated and don't have much going for them. Oddly, the gym is on the top floor of this cement building, which means you can hear weights being dropped all day long and into the night. Other guest would stay...

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of a wildlife tour. Our AC worked, but that was about it. The room was very basic and fronted on the street. Street noise was continuous until well after rush hour. The staff varied from being very helpful to totally indifferent. They are undergoing a renovation of the upper floor and...

We stayed here for two nights en route to southern Guyana and cancelled our planned stay here on the return journey in favour of somewhere better. Our room appeared well past its best and offered only basic facilities, with towels best described as flimsy. Food was available via a restaurant on the ground floor with hot food served on bain-maries....

We stayed in Georgetown on our way to Surama and the Amazon and this hotel was suggested for its price and location. It was clean, a decent bar and restaurant, the rooms were perfectly suitable and it was very well priced. We weren't looking for anything fancy and it was perfect for its purpose.

That's an average option considering the other hotels in town. It's well located. The room were clean and confortable, but a couple of friends had problems with noise and the air-conditioning. There's a braziliam restaurant on the ground floor and most of the staff speaks portuguese.

Spent two nights here. Room was fine, aircon and fan worked well. The outdoors terrace upstairs is a pleasant spot to relax and catch the breezes. Downstairs is a Brazilian-style restaurant, quite good - you serve yourself and pay for the plate by weight. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Only problem was noisy karaoke in the bar, going on late...

My stay at this hotel was a disaster. Blackout in and out of season as the backup generator wasn't working. Of course when there was blackout there was no AC or water. There was no cable so I could see any international news. They kept telling me that Brazilian channels were available. Who cares I'm not Brazilian. The breakfast was...

I want to be one of the first to talk about this new eating spot in Georgetown situated on the ground floor of the Status Hotel. This new Churrascaria welcomes you in a cozy and "chique" setting with a well stocked bar, buffet, weigh your plate or all you can eat Brazilian barbeque. So far the food is good with...
