Cheap hostel 45 000 per room in the centre of Bogota, with friendly staff, clean room, shared bathrooms and kitchen for use. Only downside is the old-fashioned equipment especially the bed. Recommended.

Good value hotel for La Candelaria, in a good location close to restaurants, cafes, museums, and the teleferico to Monserrate. The staff is really friendly. This place is quite old with squeaky wooden floors, but it was enough for my 1-night stay. For the price, you get a private room. The room is simple & clean, but the bed was...

So this was probably the worst nights sleep I've had in South America yet. Although my room was clean the bed was lumpy and hard and killed my back. I would of rather slept on grandmas old sofa pullout bed. the pillows were horrible and I had to use a sweatshirt for my pillow instead. I was right next to...

Hotel Aragon is the perfect buget hotel. It hasn't been changed since the 1950s. Same paint, same sheets, shared bathrooms. The people running the place are friendly. The walls are paper thin and the beds are lumpy. There is always fresh coffee in the kitchen. Buy an arepa, fresh veggies from the market, a few Clubs and you can live...

The hotel is nothing special...but the location and price are unbeatable. Right across the street is a hotel that goes for 200 mil a night. Stay in a private room here for 26 mil. For the budget traveler it's a nice break to have a little privacy. Smack dab in the center of Candelaria you are within easy walking distance...

I lived at the Hotel Aragon for about seven months in 1979. Basic accommodation but clean, reasonably priced, and a fantastic location in the historic Candelaria neighborhood. And the manager (owner?) was a very pleasant guy from Spain. The one photo on the TripAdvisor web site makes me think that the rooms haven't changed much since then, but of course...

Great value if you´re on a super tight budget. Rooms are very threadbare with creaky wooden floorboards you can practically see through and the bed and sparse furniture is just the same. Our room had the grotty little stained curtian that did little. Coffee and cooking facilities are there, and there is a siting room. But for a few pounds...

After searching around all the hostels with their expensive dorm beds, we were very happy to stumble across Aragon. It's a period style building with spacious rooms,, in room wifi, a big kitchen (free coffee in the morning), tv lounge and big bathrooms. It cost 40k for a double room (shared bathroom) which for a couple sharing is cheaper than...

I found this hotel when all the hostels around were full and it was much better option. Rooms are bigger and nicer in old stile with dark old furniture almost in art deco stile. Batrooms on the corridor are big and bright. Hotel is clean and has a lot of charm. It costs almoust the same as hostels. Staff is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Aragon Hotel is centrally located at Bogota’s historical and cultural center, in the old colonial downtown known as Candelaria District. This exceptional location allow the tourist to reach at walking distance the city's main museums and landmarks, such as Gold, Colonial Arts, Botero and Independence Museums; the Money House, Museum Church of Santa Clara, Luis Angel Arango Library, Cultural center Gabriel García Marquez, Candelaria Theater, the mountaintop of Monserrate Hills which offers the best panoramic view of Bogotá and the Quevedo's Square and House where Bogota was founded among others. Our hotel is very close as well to Universities such as Andes, Externado and many others. The hotel is in the C Zone, very well known for its restaurants, which offer local and international cuisine. There is also a variety of cultural events and activities available in the Candelaria area and its surrounding area.Hotel Aragón walls have witnessed many distinguished guests such as Isabel Martínez de Perón (President of Argentina, 1974-76, third wife of Juan Domingo Perón). She lived in this hotel in the fifties, at that time she was a dancer. And Fidel Castro himself when he was 21 years old came to Bogotá in April 1948 to attend the Latin Americas Congress of youth, and happened to be here just during El Bogotazo, an uprising of people after Jorge Eliécer Gaitán (Presidential candidate was shot in the street). In those days the name of the hotel was "Crillon". ... more   less
