To be honest, I have mixed feelings about the Voco hotel in Makkah. The value for money is excellent, and the location is convenient, not far from the Haram. The hotel is new, so both the room and the overall facility are very well-maintained. However, there were a few hiccups during my stay.

Firstly, upon check-in, I was assigned a quadruple room despite booking a single room with a queen or king-size bed. This change wasn't communicated to me, and I had to figure out the room number on my own. It would be helpful if the staff explained the layout of the hotel, especially since there are multiple towers with numerous floors.

My major concern was the duvet; it was too short for my 180 cm height, more like one for children on an adult bed. I also attempted to contact reception, housekeeping, and room service to request an iron, but unfortunately, no one answered or provided assistance.

Overall, the Voco hotel offers great value for money, an excellent location, and good amenities. However, there's room for improvement in staff training, communication, and addressing issues like the duvet length. There might be some issues at the front desk that need attention.

This is a shiny new, budget friendly 5 star hotel.I can’t fault the housekeeping staff. My room was adequately cleaned on a daily basis. I checked in at the time of iftaar and there was unfortunately no water or dates provided for guests. Since I traveled during an extremely busy period, my review of the shuttle service is likely to be coloured by the fact that it could not cope with the large volume of guests. The pro of the shuttle service is that it would bypass the road closures you would encounter on the 20 minute walk to the haram.
The suhoor and iftaar caters well to the Middle Eastern palate. The chef cooking the eggs requires training.Recommend IHG send all staff for hospitality training. The standards at this hotel at not in line with worldwide IHG standards.

I am currently staying at Voco during the middle of Ramadhan. Mashallah cannot fault the design and rooms etc all are perfect beside the fact the fridge is not strong enough and so my childs milk went off despite changing the fridge twice.
The biggest downside is the shuttle during ramadhan. What we innitally thought that the shuttle would drop us under clock towers seems to have changed and now the drop off point is near the bus station by elaf al mashaaer hotel which takes around 10-15 mins to get to haram in crowds.
A huge letdown for a lovely hotel. I know of other hotels who have the facility of shuttle every 10 mins and which park at clock tower so next time i would possibly take that on boerd.
Customer service almost non exisistant
If you wish to visit the haram on a very casual basis then this hotel is for you.

A wonderful hotel in terms of cleanliness, service and staff. Worth a visit. It was an excellent stay
The food is varied, the beds were comfortable and large, the room size is not large, but its cleanliness is excellent, it is about 20 minutes walk from the Haram, but there is a bus service to the Haram around the clock

Hi,
Our room smelled like cigarettes chimney. Air freshener was sprayed several times in vain. Room cleaning service needs a call to the front office.
The restaurant smelled like rotten eggs every morning ...yukkk. The buffet has very limited options and if it is a rush time, expect empty food trays. Very bad service from Sakhr, the manager, who couldn't get us a table complaining that he has so many people tonight !!! Thumbs up to the servant ladies who managed to get us a table ...great job. Thank you to Mr. Ahmed Al-Fiki as well.
It is a normal practice for the dining area to have the cooks, servants and management all on site staring at your plates and listening to your conversations.
The moment you put your fork down, someone will snatch the plate even if you are not done yet !! Likewise, try to bring every thing you need at one time, if you go for a drink, extra food or anything, chances are your plate will be gone by the time you are back.
They don't provide cutlery unless the table is clear, if you drop your fork, you need to manage without one.
I am sorry to disappoint you as, although they have a shuttle every 30 minutes, they drop you in a far place where you have to walk for at least 30 minutes to reach Kaaba.
FYI, if you want to walk to the street, it is a long distance from the front doors of the hotel.
In a nutshell, fancy renovations, bad management. Go some where else.

During my recent stay at this hotel, I encountered several issues that I believe future guests should be aware of. Firstly, the food options were substandard in both variety and taste, making dining experiences less enjoyable.

The room cleanliness was a significant concern, as it appeared that basic cleaning tasks were overlooked, affecting the overall comfort of the stay.

The shuttle bus service, touted as a convenience, proved consistently unreliable. It was either overcrowded or unavailable, causing considerable frustration for guests relying on timely transportation. The weak service extended beyond transportation, with staff displaying a lack of responsiveness and hospitality. Considering these factors, I would caution potential visitors to explore alternative accommodations to ensure a more satisfying

Amazing experience and customers service provided by Ahmed, Danah, Seba, and Syed the front desk team! Also, thanks to the bellmen who offered uncompromised service. This Hotel is ultimate for anyone who wants to perform Umrah. Only 15 minutes straight walk from Holy Makkah. They also have shuttles that run 24 hours to Makkah and back! The room was very comfortable and the bathroom setting is perfect for anyone who wants to remain Ritually pure through out the stay. Excellent laundry and room service. I love the fact that laundry and room service is paid on the spot as soon as service is completed. I love paying for services on the spot instead of getting a surprise bill after I leave like some other hotels! Excellent food quality and overall service. I love this hotel and inshaa Allah I will come again!

If your privacy and honour mean anything to you then stay far away. I booked the hotel for approx twenty days in which time other bookings were constantly being made in the same room. I made several complaints that my wife was constantly being disturbed only to receive a fake apology and be told that there was a system error. This continued on a daily basis until someone finally entered the room while my wife was Inside!!! This was the last straw. Apparently a 4 star hotel... Extremely disorganised. When complaining you're told it's the fault of the agents who've booked the whole hotel and are offered a meal to heal any wounds! Why would a hotel that's part of the intercontinental hotel group place a careless disorganised agent as it's representative? All of this taking place in the holy month of Ramadhan. I repeat again, if your privacy and dignity mean anything to you then please, for the enjoyment of your stay, stay far away from this hotel.

An Oasis of tranquility in the midst of Makkah hustle and bustle. Easy access from Jeddah and within a flat walk to Haram (1.2km) down Ibrahim Al Khalil street. The staff was friendly and efficient. Overall impeccable service and spacious rooms that are elegantly furnished and immaculately clean. We tried In-room Dining, it was quick and courteous and the food was plentiful and delicious.
Strongly recommended!

The hotel was so clean and cozy it has a lot of buses between haram and the hotel all the day.
Rooms are comfort but the fridge was so small and weak it caused some of my food got messed up.
Cleaning guy was so friendly and helped us with everything we asked him for.
