I finished Ommra with my wife and sister during the last week of December.
We enjoyed the stay at a 3 beds room in the 9th floor above reception which located at the 11th floor .
The room was wide enough to accommodate three beds with easy movement and the bath was comfortable with modern devices. There was three restaurants in two different places with enough tables but the area in general is not suitable for such huge number of guests. The staff at all places are very cooperative, smiley and helpful.

We were dropped off in the private entrance on level -2 and the luggage services team unpacked, stored, and delivered our luggage to our rooms.

We were checked in whilst seated in the lounge by a very efficient receptionist named Turki. He made sure all our rooms were near each other and explained the best lifts to use to reach our rooms. He also ensured that each of our mobiles had connected to the hotel WiFi before leaving for our rooms.

The rooms were nice, of a good size, very clean, with good mattresses and pillows, and even had a Musallah and Quran available. We were checked upon by again another efficient employee from the guest services team named Areez. She checked that we were happy with our rooms, and offered her help & support with anything we needed throughout our stay. She helped my elderly mother with a few things during our stay and nothing seemed to faze her.

The housekeeper for our room named MD Monir was again very efficient, checking with us daily if we needed anything, and after like two days he went ahead and gave us new towels, emptied the bins, offered toilet rolls, and vacuumed the carpets areas every day onwards. Thank You MD Monir for the care and attention you provided to us.

We did not use the hotel lobby areas much, but we did do a little shopping at the concessions around the reception/restaurant/lounge areas, and we loved the ice cream too 👌🏽

Overall, this hotel understands their customers and our needs well, and are one step ahead when it comes to solving our concerns. The only one thing I would say that needs changing is the electric cookers should be removed and replaced with microwaves as this would help with reducing food waste.

We are so grateful to this hotel and it’s high standard team. We had an amazing experience and one which we will not forget for a long time. We will definitely be back to stay with you in the future.

Thank You, and may Allah (God Almighty) answer all your prayers and give you all success in everything you do.

My wife and I liked this hotel very much, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable. We could also enjoy the view of the Haram from our window. The breakfasts were very good with lots of choices and the staff in the restaurant were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel starts on the 11th floor. The lifts getting to the hotel are very confusing but once in the hotel, they are no trouble. I advise you to use the escalators where you can as the lifts are very busy in the non-hotel section of the building. There is a mosque in the building with the ladies section on the 10th floor and mens section on the 9th.

The Haram is a very short walk away.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Movenpick Residences in Hajar Tower (or the Clock Tower) for a family Umrah trip in November 2019. Having heard that the Movenpick is a five star hotel and very luxurious, and the location being closest to the Haram area, we were very excited and had high expectations about this property. We also booked 5 rooms, with over 16 people traveling in our family/group.

I have to say that while the hotel was nice, it definitely did seem worth the price or the star rating. The rooms were incredibly small, so squashed that we felt like we were in New York City. The room and house-keeping service was subpar, and the front desk was always understaffed and overwhelmed at all hours of the day due to large Umrah groups checking in. The breakfast also wasn’t great. They had a section for “fresh fruit” which was almost all canned fruit which was a real big turn off.

However, the absolute biggest downside of this hotel, ironically enough, is location! Since this hotel is in the Clock tower alongside 5 other hotels, the tower was constantly packed to the brim. Elevators wouldn’t work properly or jam right on people! (The sensors were messed up). Upon notifying the hotel staff about the elevator situation (since this was particularly the elevators that led to the Movenpick), they said nothing could be done, which is untrue as I work in hospitality and know that maintenance could’ve been called to get these elevator sensors fixed. For the hotel “closest” to Haram, it still took a good 20 minutes to enter Haram. We ended up checking out on our last two days and switched over to the Hilton Conrad which turned out to be a MUCH better option!

All in all, we definitely don’t plan to return to the Movenpick anytime soon. Umrah groups, beware! The Clock Tower hotel hype is a trap! You’re better off staying at a standalone hotel like the Conrad or the Hyatt so you aren’t stuck in elevator and mall traffic. It was a 5 minute walk to Haram from there.

The electric sockets are binary not following the standard in Saudi Arabia. I asked for adaptors for 2 suites and they only gave me 2 adaptors. When I talked to the managers complaining he asked me to complain to the 3rd party company I rented from . I thought this was a very bad answer reflecting ignorance of communication skills and marketing.

Decent hotel with good rooms and breakfast service. Location is good in Abraj Al Bayt near Haram at only few minutes to reach Haram gate. Customer service needs improvement especially in high seasons with high occupancy rates.

I stayed 3 nights from 4 till 7 October with my wife, overall the stay was good. The reception took 45 minutes to check in. The reception staff is not expert in his work, I was checking in at night 9 pm and the room was not ready, it took 45 minutes for him to provide me the key. i booked the room from hotel website and still the room was not guaranteed and it was shock for me to hear from five star hotel. I booked KIng Size bed and they gave me twin bed. Registered the complaint and my room was changed the next day but there was no view on first floor. Room amenities were satisfactory. Room was clean and maintained furniture. Quick Service by the hotel room service. Breakfast was not too good, English Breakfast was not fresh, all items are opened from packets, Live Omelet was good and Arabic breakfast was also good.
Location of hotel is very close to Haram, just 5 min walk to Haram Gate, Lots of shops and restaurants around and always crowdy.
I booked the room from hotel website with advance payment and i was shocked to find out the room was not ready at 9 pm which is late check in time.
I have no idea how they are serving the guests

Situated conveniently within the Clock Tower complex overlooking the Haram. You need 2 elevators to reach from the room to the haram, which is the norm at the towers. Elevators are plenty and fast. We arrived at 4:30 am and had requested early check-in. They were helpful and gave us the room at 8:00 am right after we were done with our Umrah. We stayed at deluxe suite 3128 with part haram view. It is a corner room on a quiet floor, making it spacious and away from all the noise. Very generous services at the hotel too- we were given free water bottles, fruit platter, and complimentary drinks to enjoy at the lobby coffee shop. Room pantry has a selection of teas, kettle, mini fridge and even a coffee machine with its capsules. Breakfast buffet has a sufficient variety of food. Thank you to customer relations officer Areej for looking after us with such care.
No downside or negative points I can think of.

I am staying now at a suite in Mövenpick Hajar Tower.
The furniture is modern and comfortable
The elevators are fast and numerous
The front desk personnel are not trained at all.
House keeping is very slow, the suite is done no earlier than 6 pm!! And not a good job really.
The food is very low quality, limited variety.
The only pro of the hotel is the location.
It's not worthy of the very high price per night.
