We have spent 5 nights in By The Lemon Tree which is very well managed by Guido and his staff. For travelers who are looking for an accommodation it has to be mentioned that By The Lemon Tree is not a hotel but a kind of guest house with all of its advantages. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is...

Apparently, this place is not a hotel and, in fact, the owners do live on the premises with their 4 year old daughter, 4 dogs, 12 cats and however many tortoises. So it does look like a household. But here’s the thing about this place. Breakfast is served on real tablecloths with assorted napkins and … silverware… and not the...

I have just spent a week in Jordan with colleages, and we filled the guest house. Guido was so friendly that he had someone to move so there should be room for us. So friendly, so calm, but remember: This is not a hotel. You are staying with Guido, his wife, daughter, 12 cats an 4 dogs. You will be...

A friend knew Guido, the owner, and recommended By The Lemon Tree to us & we're so glad they did. Located in a lovely, quiet part of town that's also near to great restaurants and sites, this was the perfect start to our time in Jordan. Impeccably clean, the room was finished to a very high standard and very comfortable....

"this is not an hotel" is the leitmotive on the website. True. Luckily. I can't really categorize this place: maybe a b&b + with great shared facilities. Elegant and practical, no frills, everything works. A great option if you need to stay more than just a few days, and you don't mind making your own laundry or cooking your dinner,...

This is an excellent alternative to a bland, upscale hotel. Tranquil and human; very friendly and with more than a touch of its own character – a hotel that insists it's not a hotel, which is actually a pretty good description, all in all. Good value, very well appointed and scrupulously clean with an excellent breakfast beneath the large lemon tree...

I recently stayed at By the Lemon Tree with my husband and teenage daughter for 3 nights earlier this month. I tried booking about 5 months ago but was told that the room he had available was too small for 3. I booked at the Intercontinental but a week before our trip I inquired again at BTLT and there were...

I stayed at this guest house for over 12 weeks and it is truely a home from home. Situated in one of the lovliest areas of the city, it is the perfect base for either business or tourist visitors. Located within a two minute walk from Paris Square where you can find good local shops, a decent bar with good...

Having lived/worked in Amman and experienced recent subsequent travels through Amman it is a pleasure to stay at such a friendly, welcoming place. Guido and his wonderful wife, Rula, made our stay extremely comfortable, their hospitality is overly generous and are ever so keen to share their wealth of local knowledge. Rooms and common areas are the most modern and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Owner occupied B&B in the traditional style. We live downstairs whilst guest accommodation along with a lounge and kitchen are on the upper floors accessible through a separate entrance. By The Lemon Tree is not a hotel. There is no reception, no telephone operator nor is there a reservations department nor indeed, are there Bell Boys to greet you upon your arrival. Effectively, this means that your bed will not be turned down at sunset so that you won't get a chocolate on your pillow either. By the Lemon Tree is our home. We live on the ground floor whilst guest accommodation is arranged on the upper floors accessible through a separate entrance. By The Lemon Tree is ideally suited to independent professionals that require a functional short term base in Amman but that do not require hand holding on a daily basis. ATTENTION! When making your way to our house, remember that despite the existence of street names, in Jordan nobody uses addresses. Also, not only are taxi drivers thoroughly unfamiliar with addresses but more often than not, they are not familiar with any areas of town other than major venues. In order to facilitate your transfer By The Lemon Tree, contact us prior to starting your trip so we can direct you to the best way to get here ... more   less
