I would not normally stay there, but found a good deal online. You can see the difference with other hotels in Jerusalem. Definitely the nicest one I have stayed at. The building is special, and the bookstore on-site is famous and a plus. The bar is great too.

We chose the American Colony because of reviews we read on TripAdvisor, and because everyone said it was a special place, so I feel compelled to warn others that there are things about this place that are not so special. The problems started when we first arrived after a long day of traveling. My husband and I asked for western...

Great location. Clean. Historic. Very nice. Would stay here again upon my next visit to Jerusalem. Room was spacious and hotel personnel was helpful. Can't think of any negatives. The meals were a bit pricey but excellent and the courtyard was beautiful.

The rooms are comfortable; the cocktails outstanding and the food amazing in both restaurants. But the real glory of this wonderful hotel is its staff: friendly and efficient - they create a truly homely and relaxed atmosphere.

We stayed for a long weekend, I booked a Pasha Deluxe, when arrived was informed that we received an upgrade - we ended up in one of the hotel suites, room #61. The room was a dream, very spacious, clean, comfortable including a large size balcony. The bathroom was nearly the size of the room, the shower had a steam...

The room decor was awesome. It was cozy and relaxing but luxurious. I was so refreshed by the sauna system (steam mist) in the shower room. There was a TV besides a bathtub which made our bath time much enjoyable. This hotel has a good access to the main sightseeing area. Just 10 - 15 minutes on the foot to...

Large airy room with lots of character. Very nice spaceous bathroom. Middle Eastern (Oriental) buffet served one evening during our stay very good food and live lady musician. Particularly liked the large wood burning fire in the lobby which we would sit in sofas and have hot chocolate. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has so much character and...

The hotel is the grande dame of Jerusalem. Its an old charming and interesting facility a little out of the way. The rooms are very old worldly but have almost all conveniences. The biggest shortcoming was a lack of a coffee machine or mini-bar in the room. They are spacious and comfortable and so are the bathrooms. The breakfast is...

We stayed here for four nights and were upgraded to a junior suite - room 312 - in the old part of the building which is the nicest and the historic part. The staff were all helpful and friendly - and discreet when dealing with famous guests. When it got chilly at night they adhered to our request to leave...
