I stayed here for two nights with two friends. We booked the co-ed 10-bed dorm. Upon arrival, the person at reception was very distracted--he would do things like take our credit cards, then walk away, or give us a key, ignore us, then tell us he wasn't done when we started to walk away. We were placed in a room...

Hi Dear, I would like to thank you for leaving a review about our hostel. I am happy to hear you liked our tours, Shabbat dinner, and free breakfast. We appreciate the negative reviews as much as the positive, for it helps us to learn and improve. I am sorry to hear about your experience. I will personally mention it...

Welcoming athmosphere, reosonable prizes and very helpful staff. Abraham hostel is the first stay where breakfast was a highlight. My children 1 and 3 years old had a good time too! We had a perfect stay!

It was my first solo trip and first time staying at a hostel. I was nervous sharing a room with ten other people. But it was awesome! I'm glad that Abraham was my first experience. The roof top was really cool. They have hammocks you can just chill on. The tours are cool. Really fun people from all around the...

I stayed five nights in this hostel with a friend, and found it to be very comfortable and convenient. It's not a five-star hotel but it's half the price and everything that I needed while in Jerusalem. It's great that it's just an easy, straight, 20 minute walk to the Old City, or, the Davidka Square tram stop is just...

Vibrant, welcoming, conveniently located! Traveled with my 17 year old daughter and got a private room. Simple but perfect! The atmosphere is wonderful, the diversity of ages, interests and backgrounds of travelers makes it an experience, not just a place to stay. Communal dinners, jamming sessions, you can join or keep to yourself. Wish there was an Abraham hostel in...

Awesome hostel. 20 minutes walk from old city or 5 minute tram ride. 5 or 10 minute walk from downtown Jerusalem with tons of bars, restaurants, ect. The hostel has an awesome, really large, rooftop with bar, as well as another large bar on the second floor. Friendly guests and staff. Guests included young people as well as families and...

I highly recommend a stay...or many stays...at the Abraham Hostel. I have stayed several times and always booked a dorm room. Those experiences were great but last night, I stayed in a single room. Wow, what a wonderful sleep I had. I love staying at this place! The staff is always friendly and make guests feel welcome from the moment...

Finding an economic and available hotel in Jerusalem may sometimes be quite challenging. Abraham Hostel is central (15 min walk to Jaffa gate) and maybe a good option, if you are not too demanding. I was already hosted in this hostel more than 10 years ago, and it did not change a lot. Renovations measures would be highly welcome. Rooms...

I stayed in a private single room for a week. Accommodations are basic but adequate (note no hair dryer in room but the air is so dry, I had no issues. They do have one at the front desk you can ask for.). The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint in a colour that doesn't show scuff marks...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
