Nestled close to the Kotel and the Old City, the Mamilla Hotel captivates guests with its scenic views and tranquil atmosphere. While the rooms are celebrated for their modernity and cleanliness, some guests mention they are on the smaller side. The hotel's amenities, including the gym, breakfast, and pool, generally receive high marks, although the minibar selection may not meet everyone's expectations.
Despite the high praise for the staff's attentiveness, a few travelers have experienced disappointments with the bar and restaurant service. Additionally, opinions are divided on the hotel's value, with the high cost being a point of contention for those expecting more from the dining experience.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel has a very nice and modern design. Although the room is smaller than average, still it's design makes it to look big. The bathroom is very nicely done, with changing its transparency glass walls. With all this the room is a bit dark, due to it's illumination(but this i will not outpoint it as a minus for this hotel, because in most of the hotels this is the tendency, not proper illumination).
The room has nespresso machine with plenty of capsules and even if it is finished a phone call to the reception and they will send more capsules or water or shampoo. Quick and nice service.
The negative part in the room is that it is no fridge which can be used by the guest, as it is packed with drinks of the hotel and once moved from the fridge it is charged to your room. Our was locked. This in winter is not a problem, but in the heat of the summer can be a huge problem, as cold water is a must in the heat.
We had half pension in the hotel, but the food is not the best variety and taste as well. Mainly are prepared salads with dressings and not the best dressings, either too sweet, either very sour or very salted or old and the vegetables in it are spoiled. Fresh vegetables is a very little option, maybe guests prefer to prepare their own salads. The cheese section for breakfast is very low in variety - 3 types of some sort of brie, single type of yellow cheese and few types of white cheese and feta. Dinner, not the best, food oily, meat was not properly cooked, sort of "grandmother of the cow". In one word the food is not on the level of a 5 stars hotel, maybe on the level of a 2 start hotel. In the second night we even skipped the dinner at the hotel and went out to eat.
If I would return here, maybe, but for sure I would not chose half pension, as the food is not good at all.

Thank you for choosing Mamilla Hotel for your recent Jerusalem stay. We learn from your description that you enjoyed the service, and that you appreciate the hotel's unique modern design - loved by many. From your ratings, we are pleased to know in addition, that the hotel's convenient location, as well as the cleanliness throughout the hotel's spaces appropriately reflected both your expectations, and our high standards. We are nevertheless disappointed to learn that your experience was not complete. Regarding your comment about fridges in the rooms: we are at all times prepared to send an extra fridge to our guests, free of charge. Your dining experience was also shared with our senior management, who will be sure to review the aspects you describe with the relevant teams. We look forward to renewed opportunities for hosting you, and offering you the true Mamilla Hotel Experience. Sincerely, The Management.

Between Mamilla and David Citadel, I believe this is the best choice for solo or couples visits, particularly in the winter months. I love staying at the David Citadel with my family in the summer as they have the playroom and the outdoor pool. However, I believe Mamilla adds another level of luxury and personal touch. Additionally, it has the benefit of an indoor pool. The staff are all incredibly helpful and attentive, particularly in the executive lounge (a worthwhile addition to one’s stay).
The standard rooms (I think are called Studios) are on the smaller side, but what it lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in design and comfort. The amenities are great in the room, though note there is no desk in the studios. That didn’t matter for me.

Dear Mamilla Hotel Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Mamilla Hotel, and for taking of your time to write your wonderful TripAdvisor review. Your description foregrounds the singular merits of staying at Mamilla Hotel, and sheds light on how warm and wonderful it is to stay in a luxury hotel that has a homely feeling: with personalized service and an indoor pool. While the Mamilla Hotel is always proud to host groups and families and events, you are absolutely right in saying that the personal ambience is remarkably well suited to solo travelers and couples. Many guests traveling alone tell us about this wonderful feeling of being cared for, warmly and personally. We will be delighted to share your admiration with our executive lounge team, and thank you also for appreciating the amenities it is our pleasure to offer. We adore your review, because it speaks from experience. What we would love most, is to have the pleasure of hosting you as a returning guest on all your subsequent Jerusalem visits! Sincerely, The Mamilla Hotel Management and Team.

Our group of 55 stayed here for 4 nights in July for a Holy Land tour. This is a lovely hotel with big common spaces, an indoor pool, and spa and gym access at the next door spa.
The sleeping area was not very big but the bathroom was a good size with a separate shower and tub, Etro toiletries, big and thick towels. The closets were roomy, the hairdryer was better than my Dyson :-), nightly turndown service and water was replenished daily. Rooms also had a Nespresso machine.
There was a huge spread for breakfast every morning in there beautiful ballroom dowstairs. If it's cool enough, sit at the very pretty al fresco area.
They also have a great rooftop restaurant with wonderful views at dusk so don't miss it.
Right beside the hotel is also a commercial strip with shopping and restaurants.

Dear Mamilla Hotel Guest, Thank you, and your entire group for choosing to stay at the Mamilla Hotel. The pleasure of hosting you was ours! We thank you also for sharing your exquisite personal review with TripAdvisor's world-wide readership. We are always excited to read guest reviews, and wonderfully-worded descriptions are particular favorites. Why? Because sensationalism is all about the truth. We are enthralled about the way in which your personal review brings out the uniqueness of Mamilla Hotel, its various inhouse facilities, the design of our rooms, the amenities we offer, our patio - in which breakfast can be enjoyed Al Fresco, our RoofTop Restaurant - which looks out upon Jerusalem's incomparable views, the elegant Mamilla pedestiran Mall - with its luxury design shops etc. We thank you also for taking the time to attribute the highest rating for Location (clearly), Cleanliness, and Service. This attractive, luxurious hotel is in a great position – an easy walk to the Old City and a short walk from Damascus Gate light rail stop. The staff were excellent. We ate dinner in the Rooftop Restaurant once and in Happy Fish twice – all three meals were excellent. The buffet breakfast offered an extensive choice, including an egg station for omelettes etc, and all the food was fresh and tasty. However, some dishes that are usually included in an Israeli breakfast were missing from the buffet, replaced by more international options.
We felt that the major problem in this hotel was that our room was spoilt by poor design. It was a studio room which, the hotel’s web site states, is 301 to 323 sqft (28 to 30 sqm) in size – larger than many hotel rooms. However, over 30% of this floor area was taken up by the en suite facilities, which included a huge bath, a large area occupied by a rainfall shower, as well as a separate washing area and a separate WC. As a result there was little space around the bed and an extremely cramped seating area, making it difficult to use a laptop in the room. In short, the room design causes a reasonable sized room to feel much smaller!
Room lighting is also poorly designed, with switches in five different places and no obvious logic to what turned on from where. The ensuite lighting is partly operated by switches in the washing area and partly from a switch by the door to the room. The floor light can only be brightened or dimmed by bending down to adjust a switch at floor level. It took quite a while to walk round and find all the switches to turn off every light!
Besides using a vast amount of water, the bath is very wide and deep with nothing to which to hold on, making it very difficult for older people (like ourselves) to use it safely. There is both a rain shower and a hand shower – but the control for these were positioned so that they cannot be used without passing under the rain shower – not much use for anyone who has to keep any part of their body dry for any reason (or for anyone who just does not like rain showers!).

I had the fantastic opportunity of three-night accommodation and my experience was absolutely amazing. The interiors embody the contemporary style while all the space is very calming, comfortable, and cosy. I slept better than at being home and for the breakfast ate more than usually through all the day :) The dinner at Rooftop was absolutely amazing not just because of tastiest dishes and immaculate service but due to jaw-dropping view and general fantastic vibe and ambience. Along with all this especially I would like to mention the kindest warm-hearty assistance of the concierges. Actually working together they filled my trip with unforgettable experiences. Their advice on restaurants, whereabouts and sights actually worked well. And of course you should keep in mind the location which is just three minutes walk from Jaffa Gate.

Dear Mamilla Hotel Guest, We treasure your warm compliments in our heart of hearts.Thank you for the time you took to share your exquisite, eyebrow-raising review, with TripAdvisor's global community! Your amazing description reaches the stars with its powerful evocation of fantastic, super-comfortable spaces, topped with the comfort of super-comfortable beds, topped with the incredibly wholesome and enticing breakfast buffet you write of, topped with the magnificent RoofTop, with its striking views, topped with: the Mamilla Hotel Concierge team, whose assistance you say: Worked Well! Together with the highly desired location of Mamilla Hotel, the above features poignantly do indeed outline Mamilla Hotel's singularity. At the very Top, however, the way we always see it, are our world of guests, whom we at all times look forward to welcoming back. What is a hotel, after all, without its guests? We very much look forward to welcoming you back soon, Sincere Best Wishes for 2020, from the Mamilla Hotel Management and Team.

My wife and I took a week-end Getaway to the Mamilla Hotel. It was a wonderful experience at at top rate hotel!
It is an ideal location situated at the beginning of the Mamilla Outdoor Mall, which gave us easy access to the Mall shopping, dining options and is a short walk to either the Old City or Downtown Jerusalem!
Our vacation had a great start as we drove up to the entrance, being met by the Front Door staff offering Valet parking and help with the luggage. Aviyatar and Yotam were friendly, courteous and efficient.
A quick check-in with friendly and courteous staff got us quickly to our room. Dima and Rafah (sp?) were very helpful!
The room, though a bit small, was very nice! Lots of closet space for clothes etc. very comfortable bed, nice lighting options (like a nite light for reading that doesn't disturb your partner), and a cool bathroom ( I loved the rain shower, which along with a bathtub was separated from the rest of the bathroom by a glass door, so there was no issue of seeping water into the rest of the bathroom!). There was complimentary water (I drink a LOT of water!) and espresso coffee machine.
The dining experience was great. Shabbat Dinner and Breakfast offered a variety of foods and was all very tasty! The staff was very attentive to every need we had and was quick to accommodate. It was a pleasant experience.
Special thanks to Mario and Rachel (managers?) who were so friendly and helpful. Frankly everyone deserves mention, but I simply don't remember all their names!
All those little and courteous attentions makes a difference. Everyone said "hello" and made us feel very welcome.
Highly recommend this hotel!

Dear Mamilla Hotel Guests, Thank you for choosing Mamilla Hotel. We are delighted to read your excellent review on TripAdvisor's excellent platform, and to take note of your highest ratings. Your evocative description of the fine merits of the room you stayed in, as well as of your great dining experience on Shabbat dinner, and at Breakfast, cannot go unnoticed. Having said all of the above, we are especially , and in all honesty, excited to receive your kind words referring to our staff members: Evyatar and Yotam at the entrance, as well as Rachel, Rania, Dima, and Mario at the Front Desk, and thank you as well for mentioning our diligent BallRoom (Breakfast and Dining Hall) team. Exactly in this regard, we thank you personally for observantly highlighting the essential component, presumably without which, a stay in any hotel, could not possibly have been as pleasurable: the human presence, which made real difference to you on your stay here with us! Our team is grateful for your warm appreciation of their unique contribution, both as a team and as individuals, and we all look forward to welcoming you back to additional, resplendent stays at the one and only Mamilla Hotel! Warmly, The Mamilla Hotel Management and Team.

Unlike most hotels in Israel that charge 5 star prices but have 1 star service and bland rooms this is a proper 5 star hotel. Outstanding personnel at Reception( Stefan and Dina), fantastic rooms and a rooftop that is best in class compliment an unbeatable location. While not cheap, why should it be for what you get, the price differential between this hotel and your average Zimmer is surprisingly small. An example of what is possible in this country with the right effort and energy.

The entire stay was wonderful! From the impeccable service provided by Gilad, Stefane, and the entire staff, to the beautifully designed rooms, breathtaking views of the Old City atop the Terrace restaurant, delicious food (talk about a great breakfast spread!), and its close proximity to the Jaffa Gate, this hotel had it all. The only negative thing I can say about this place is that there are too many light switches in the room. Thank you for a great vacation -- we'll definitely be back :)

My stay was during Easter week. The hotel's location is ideal if you plan to visit the Old City. It's a two minute walk from the hotel (via the outdoor Mamilla Mall which is located down the steps of the hotel) to Jaffa Gate. Great rooftop views of the the Old City from the restaurant and the Sun Lounge. Our view from the room wasn't great but the rooms and bathroom were excellent albeit a bit small. The breakfast was very good with a spacious dining area. Grab dinner at the rooftop restaurant at least once during your stay. Many non-guests visit, but hotel guests are given priority and seated first but make a reservation just in case. The food selection was minimal but delicious. The front staff was excellent. I felt that some of the more seasoned employees were more professional and welcoming. However, the younger front staff...not so much but they were friendly. Maybe it's a generational thing. The cleaning staff was extremely courteous and very thorough. One gripe I had was with excursions. Different concierges had different prices for hiring drivers to take me to the Dead Sea or Bethlehem. After speaking to three concierges over two days, I was given three different prices. I wish they could have someone and have a normal rate. Again, the location is fantastic. Way better than the the other major hotels. There's a small convenience store across the street if you want to load up on snacks and drinks. Also, there's an ATM in the mall (which is also behind the hotel)

The glass has a unique feature that turns them opaque with a click of a button; there is plenty of privacy when the button is clicked.
We dropped off our luggage but it was for one of the days we were there. You may want to email the concierge since the day your asking for is the following day after you checkout.
