The Bezalel Hotel emerges as a top choice for its central location and commendable cleanliness, with guests frequently applauding the neat and well-maintained premises. Although some guests consider the rooms small, the comfort and modern amenities often offset this concern.
The hotel's atmosphere and service earn high marks, noted for the attentive staff and charming touches like complimentary minibar offerings. While parking costs may raise eyebrows, the overall value, including satisfying breakfast and enjoyable happy hour, is generally seen as fair by travelers.

Detailed Reviews
Amazingly friendly, genuine and helpful team of staff members at Bezalel. They made our stay extremely comfortable and were so flexible even when we had a very late night flight departure on our way home.
The hotel is centrally located and a short walk from almost everything. We rented a car one day and drove out 1.5 hours to the Dead Sea and Masada which was a great experience.
The buffet Israeli breakfast at this hotel is possibly one of the most delicious hotel breakfasts I've ever come across at any pricepoint!

Stayed here with my mom and my sister in law.
The hotel is amazingly friendly and accommodating. Eron, at the front desk, greeted us and checked us in, and immediately accommodated our request to (1) add an extra room and (2) extend all rooms for an extra day with no scheduling hassles. They even offered to move our luggage for us from one room to the other while we were out for the day.
Same thing with asking to arrange tours, cabs, etc. We just asked and Eron took care of it with enthusiasm and professionalism (not to mention offering my mom a free meal after we checked out because she was feeling under the weather). And unfailingly greeted us every time we walked in or out.
As for the location and the amenities: the rooms are cozy and get lots of wonderful sunlight. We booked the terrace rooms, which I strongly recommend, especially during warmer months or if you enjoy relaxing in the sun. The terraces aren’t typical hotel balconies, they’re huge, like private patios. But even if you don’t book a terrace room, you can still sunbathe on the roof.
The free breakfasts and happy hours are generous and feature hearty, healthy Israeli fare. Expect lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, spreads, and breads. Also a selection of hot dishes at both meals and wines in the evening.
Location-wise, it’s very close to one of the outdoor markets, and maybe a 20 minute walk from the old city.

Everything about this hotel was on point, from the unique Israeli artwork hanging in every corner of the hotel, the unique and delicious breakfast and happy hour menu to the incredible service and friendliness of the staff. A hotel worth coming to Jerusalem for. We were blown away. Shame it was only one night!
Front desk staff were helpful in loaning phone cord, giving recommendations for restaurants and hotel is a short walk to the incredible Machaneh Yehuda shuk and food market.

Returning from a May 2022 stay for 4 nights. For the most part, I had a good experience however I wish I knew when booking the property what I know now.
Service is a 4.5. I would have given it a perfect score if it weren't for the cook who operates the daily morning breakfast as I found him to be very curt and not hospitable. Breakfast I was told begins at 7:00 am. At 6:55, it was clear he had everything setup and ready to go. I asked him politely if I can begin as I had a tour to catch, he reminded me breakfast began at 7:00. I found that to be very petty. Overall, the staff is extremely young and perhaps green at running a boutique hotel. But they always greeted me with a smile and never did I feel unwelcome. And they all spoke fluent English.
Location of the property is very good although a bit farther to old city than I perhaps thought it was going to be. It appears no matter who you ask for directions in Jerusalem, no point of interest is ever a single minute farther than the magical 15 minute number.
Besides the rooms being EXTREMELY small, my biggest complaint of this property is the round the clock traffic noise. The property sits on the corner of Ben Yehuda street. Constant honking, motor bikes whizzing by, loud cars all culminate to you staying awake almost nightly. There is just no getting around it. So please be warned, even if you are not a light sleeper, sleep and rest are not guaranteed here. My room was one of the top floors and farther from the street so moving was not going to make a difference. Also, the bathrooms need a modern amenity upgrade. Mine was outdated and lacked any shelving or storage to place soap/shampoo products. You have to place them either on the shower floor or on the cabinet outside of the shower and shuttle back and forth.

A nice patio leads to the reception where the staff is helpful and efficient. The interiors are warm and inviting too.
The rooms are nice quality but a little too compact with furniture other than the bed not very stable. Worse is that it's very hard to not hit anything while moving inside the room. I particularly disliked the bathroom access. I hit the door every time it was left open.
The evening snacks and drinks are complimentary and nice. Even for vegetarians the breakfast and the evening service is quite wholesome and tasty. Stay here if you don't mind very tight rooms.

We enjoyed our few days in this new small hotel. In spite of it’s central location on a busy street the hotel interior is calming and quiet. Our room was not large but it had plenty of storage and was well equipped. The afternoon “happy hour” provided a welcome snack and the breakfast was attractive and filling. All of the hotel staff on all the shifts were friendly, helpful and competent which reflects good management.

We stayed for two nights. The room was as big as a postage stamp! No room for luggage and 2 people.
The staff was exceptional, very lovely and friendly. The breakfast was a great example of Israeli morning meal. Everything was freshly prepared and tasty.
But there there were issues with our room beside the size. A foul order came from the bathroom and sink smelled of mildew as well. There were heavy rains and one of the windows leaked. We used the sill to put stuff because of lack pace and it got drenched. Do not take room 101, it is too small faces the street which is always noisy.

Had an amazing stay at the Bezalel- the staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable setting up our tours and providing us with treats for our day trips, towels and all kinds of details so that everything would be perfect. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean and modern - the breakfast is delicious and the happy hour is great as well. Will come back for sure!!

My husband and I spent 2 nights here in May 2022. We stayed at another Atlas hotel in Tel Aviv and enjoyed our stay there as well. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 "stars" is because the bathroom was so small, my 6'3" husband barely fit in the shower, and the bathroom is in the middle of the hotel room without any windows, so it gets super hot and humid (good luck trying to dry your hair!) Our bed was large and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly helpful in finding us an incredible driver/tour guide to take us to the Dead Sea. The hotel has a cute little patio out front, the wifi works well, and you can take some great sunset pics from the rooftop.
This hotel has a daily happy hour which is great for getting a snack after a long day of wandering around Jerusalem. Our room also had a fridge which was convenient for keeping an extra bottle of wine and snacks.
You can walk to almost anywhere in Jerusalem from this location, although if it's really hot, you might want to cab. Download the Gett app so you can pay via credit card and have the taxi meet you at the hotel entrance. Would definitely stay here again!

I’m not sure. But the taxis at TLV are great and if you want a car service there are a ton of reputable options online.
Hi Bridgette; We do not offer dinner service, however we do have a lovely breakfast buffet.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you at our popular Bezalel Hotel or one of our other Atlas Hotels.

Yes I think there are.
The construction is on a building directly next door. A building that’s physically attached to this hotel. Think townhouse in your head and imagine if they tore one section of townhouse down. When I was there in beginning of the month they were doing massive drilling of the foundation that literally shook my bed and the entire hotel and was the loudest banging. Way louder than someone banging on your door. Way way louder.
