The best hotel in the area in the center, everything is perfect, a real boutique hotel with very beautiful design both in the rooms and in the common areas. The Deluxe room is spacious, a large comfortable bed, everything is done in oriental style, the design is thought out in the smallest detail, tea, coffee, water were replenished every day, huge fluffy towels, perfectly white linen. The breakfast is excellent, with a lot of choice, with the opportunity to order various egg dishes and desserts. The SPA is very good, cool water pool, hammam, sauna, steam bath, tea, everything is open from 8 am to 10 pm. But the main advantage of the hotel is the staff, absolutely everyone is friendly, always available, ready to help in any matter, willing to help. I would especially like to mention the lovely girl 0Shirin and the young man Tayfun at the reception. Thank you all so much, we will recommend them to our friends and will definitely return.

Traveled with my sister and stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. Wonderful hotel! Very attentive, polite staff. They organized a transfer to the hotel, helped with navigation around the city, booking tours, provided a metro map, and ordered a taxi to the airport. All wishes were fulfilled at the first request, as in an oriental fairy tale! The hotel is very conveniently located: historical sights are within walking distance. At the same time, the room has excellent sound insulation - you can’t hear the noise of the street or the rumble of trams. Room cleaning - daily. Clean, white linen, fluffy towels, all necessary accessories are provided. The price includes a buffet breakfast, and you can order an additional dish from the menu (also included in the price). And a very nice addition is an afternoon snack: tea/coffee with desserts! When choosing a hotel, one of the key factors for us was the availability of a spa. Here, too, everything is at the best level: swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hammam. Massage for an additional fee. It's so nice to relax after long walks around the city! I definitely recommend the hotel to everyone who wants not only to see the city, but also to truly relax, like in the Sultan’s palace!

Thank you for your help in the last seven days of my tour of Turkey, which lasted less than a month. We were passed through a corner room on the 3rd floor (or 4th floor as it is called in Japan), the closest to the tram station, and because of the proximity to the station, we could hear quite a bit of tram noise (and feel a bit of vibration), with earplugs. We slept so hard every day that we could sleep without earplugs, but if you are sensitive to sound, you might be concerned. Or you could request a room on a higher floor (though we did request a quieter room in advance). The house was well cleaned, but there was no change of sheets on the first 3 days, and I noticed that I somehow changed the sheets every day after that (but not the pillowcases), forgot to refill the toilet paper occasionally, and the hand soap and body soap provided disappeared every bottle. I went to several cities, but this was the only place I encountered Japanese guests at my hotel. I wonder if they are popular. They give me a lot of tourist advice if I ask. I went to Hammam, which was recommended at check-in, and it was a very good and lovely memory. Anyway, the access is excellent, so it is especially recommended for those who want to stay for a short period of time and sightsee efficiently.

I stayed at the end of August 2024, as a solo woman, in their Romance Suite on the top floor (called the 5th floor but it was really the 6th), with large wrap around balcony/terrace around the corner of the building.
Primarily, I was bothered by the smell of mould in the bathroom of my room which bothered my breathing during my 2 day stay.
This is not a luxury hotel and with the exception of the sheets and towels, felt dated and underwhelming. The marble sink had a huge black crack running through the marble and the slippers were cheap. The capsule coffee maker did not work and despite my request for an alternate which did, nothing was done. The toiletries were plain and by the brand "Roots" - I expected a more luxurious (and ideally locally sourced) brand for soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc. I was disappointed by the quality of toiletries provided at Romance Hotel. The "antique" area rugs on the floor were hard, tattered and threadbare and should be replaced immediately with a more plush carpet. None of the charging ports worked as the connection port had been worn loose from overuse, and did not have a tight fit.
The staff never seemed to be quite sure that I was a Guest when I came through the front door and I got quizzical looks - again, in a higher end boutique, this does not happen and usually you are geeted by name.
Overall, I noticed the Management's efforts to cut corners and I did not like it I have had much better at other hotels at this same price point. My experience with the room was a 3* experience.
I have removed an additional * because I did NOT like the hard push by the staff to write a review at the end of my stay - even physically taking my phone from me to "show me how to leave a 5* review"! It was presumptive and unfortunately, my experience was not a 5* one, and thus the agressive action left a bad taste in my mouth. (I refused to write a review at that point and told them I would do so later). The hotel and staff should stop doing pressuring people on their departure to write a review. It came across as really offensive, agressive and unclassy. The better hotels do not do this.
For the good parts, it was clean and the location is good. But I expect cleanliness as a minimum and there are other hotels in Sulanahmet that have a good location and perhaps better view. It is about 30 steps from the Gulhane Tram station, which made for convenient transport around the sites in the area - the Istanbulkart is a must.
To me, this was a mediocre boutique. If you are looking for a true luxury hotel, I would keep looking. There was simply no "wow" on any level. While the price point was good, I was left feeling very "meh" about the whole experience.

All of the positive comments in earlier reviews are true. This is a terrific boutique hotel, perfect for a visit to Istanbul. The two stand out features for me were its location and the friendliness of its staff.
It’s an easy walk from the hotel to the antiquity of Sultanahmet, the tranquility of Gulhane Park or the bustle of Eminonou. There is a tram stop just around the corner if you don’t feel like walking and the hotel will help you with the Istanbul transport card which is a brilliant way to get around the city and very cheap.it even covers the ferries which are a must-do feature of any visit here.
Every query was met with a friendly and helpful response from the staff who genuinely seemed to care that we were having a successful visit. Our room was comfortable without being luxurious and came with a good size bathroom with a lovely walk in shower.
Breakfast was a fairly standard buffet arrangement with a reasonable range of options.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay if visiting Istanbul for a few days.

This hotel has an amazing staff that has a high standard of hospitality with everyone being friendly, kind, and provided first class service. We had a warm welcoming tea at the reception and when we entered our room there was a beautiful tray with some delicious Turkish delights we enjoyed very much! Check-in and check-out were excellent, quick, and effecient. The location is perfect in all directions to many attractions, transportation by ferry, tram, train, and plenty of taxis that the hotel can arrange. The breakfast had a nice variety of food selection serving a buffet style and menu options were also availablle. The room was comfortable, a nice size with authentic Turkish boutique style furnishings and decorations. The hotel had interesting history on each of the floors written on the walls of the hallway which gave our staay an extra nice introduction to Istanbul. The bathroom had a nice standing rain shower with great water pressure and the water temperature was perfect! The bed was extremely comfortable and the room we stayed in was very nice and quiet which provided a relaxing sleep. The spa and wellness center was AMAZING!!! I had a foot and head message and it was so relaxing. Everything thing in the hotel was extremely clean, the service was very professional, and we would recommend staying at the Romance Istanbul Hotel to all our friends and family!

This was my 3rd trip to Istanbul but first for my Aunt, as a stopover to Africa. I wanted to stay in the Old City so we would be close to the biggest sights.
A friend recommended Romance Hotel as she had stayed recently with her mother. It was modern with Turkish flare in the linens, furniture and fixtures which we appreciated rather than the sterile (but predictable) Western chain hotels.
I booked 2 rooms with terrace on the top floor. There was essentially no view (except of the naked man across the way in his apartment) and the terrace tiny. I cannot compare to other rooms but am not sure the terrace was necessary. The bathroom was again modern with Turkish touches and the shower pressure phenomenal. It was oddly surrounded by all glass walls but there was a privacy curtain for those sharing the room. There was no refrigerator in the room but otherwise it had the expected Nespresso, robes and slippers. It was very clean and the towels incredibly large and thick.
We included breakfast which was served from 0700 to 1300. Many different types of pastries, fresh and candied fruits, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, breakfast meats and traditional Turkish breakfast elements of cheeses, sliced meats, vegetables/olives, nuts. The quality was very high and the pastry display very impressive especially for a small hotel. It was well worth the approximate $10/pp cost.
The neighborhood is walkable and full of touts trying to get you to gone into their restaurant “best in town” or to purchase their fake designer bags or sweets. It was lively but I never felt unsafe. Like any large city, it has its share of graffiti and trash but I knew what to expect. We could easily walk to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Topkapi Palace. So the location is perfect to access all of that. I F pound the neighborhood surprisingly quiet at night; no noises except the random barking dog and of course, the call to prayer.
The staff were all very friendly and greeted us with smiles whenever we came and went. They were helpful with things to do and places to eat. I was a bit dubious about the recommendation to eat at Olive Restaurant since it appears to be affiliated, but it was lovely and the views and food delicious.
Lastly, we also took advantage of the spa. There was some miscommunication about the services as descriptions on the website are only names “Bali massage” and not helpful. We booked Breath of Life massages which are longer but both received only 50 minute treatments. However, they were fantastic; my 75 year old Aunt said it was probably the second best massage she had ever had. Be advised that the Hamman/Turkish bath is normally done naked.
My only complaint would be that it was not clear that when using email or “Contact Us” options to reach staff, that these apparently are not monitored on the weekends. As someone used to 24/7 availability of hotels, this was a surprise. I would suggest that the staff have “out of office” auto replies when messages come in “outside of business hours” with a notation of what those hours are.

We stayed two nights at the Romance Istanbul hotel. The experience was fantastic! The staff is absolutely kind and helpful: it is really very rare to find such accuracy towards the customer. Good and plentiful breakfast both sweet and savory. The extra options that complete breakfast (eggs, porridge, etc.) are interesting. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. For those who have problems with external noise we suggest the premium rooms on the top floor: properly soundproofed. The kitchen is open 24 hours a day (including room service) A plus is the convenience of reaching the city's main attractions and services (restaurants, etc.) on foot.

After two very disappointing experiences at other hotels, the Romance Hotel was a true respite and exceeded everything you could wish for.
The service was excellent – the whole team was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. No matter what you needed, it was done immediately, and always with a smile.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable. You really felt comfortable, everything was well maintained and designed with attention to detail.
Also the equipment and the small attentions have made the stay very special. The hotel manages to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that you really appreciate after negative experiences.
Everything was just right here – from the friendliness of the staff to the cleanliness to the great service. Thank you for this lovely experience, I will definitely come back and recommend the place to anyone looking for a relaxed and perfect stay in Istanbul!

Had a great stay at this beautiful hotel. We were allowed to check-in 4 hrs earlier after a long flight which we appreciated very much. We were offered a free room upgrade and the room was very quiet and the beds were very comfortable. One of the most comfortable hotels i have stayed at. You can't beat the hotels location as well as it was within walking distance to all the major attractions.

I don't recall any parking. Contact the hotel directly; they might have an arrangement for parking. Traffic in Istanbul is some of the worst I've seen anywhere. We used taxis and the trams, which we reliable and very reasonably priced.
There are more places to choose from in the Istanbul area.
