Dirty overall, terrible rooms, peeling wallpaper, disgusting showers, dangerously steep staircase, exposed and dangerous electrical wiring. Breakfast was terrible with stale hard bread. The staff ripped us off on transit from the airport by charging us more than they should have. It was not even that cheap, considering you can get a better deal on Priceline if you work at... More

Nice central location blighted by small, dirty rooms, unhelpful attitude of the staff and non-existent cleaning service. The hotel is centrally located, just a stone's throw away from the Blue Mosque and the main tourist centre of Istanbul. The breakfast/dining room is located on the top floor with a great view over the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia. They provide... More

Very friendly staff, clean, excellent location. Accommodations were very basic but good value for the money. The staff was very helpful with tour arrangements. The free breakfast of fresh vegetables and bread was adequate. Excellent view from the terrace. Of you're on a budget it is a very good value.

It is a 5-storey building, a narrow spiral staircase, but without elevator. The breakfast room is on the fifth floor. A little shabby, a little dirty but a nice view of the Blue Mosque and the surrounding dilapidated buildings. Family business, young staff. The chat I do best. Anyway nice. Just do not ask anything of them. My room was... More

Hotel is not clean and worst thing no hot water or heat in the room. Its as if we are living in the stone age. We were moved from one room and they control the heater from down stairs. Stay away from this hotel.

I arrived after midnight, I didn't want to go in or up the stairs at first sight, but it was late and I was alone. The room was small, overfull, dingy and dirty, the en-suite old and mouldy- gross, gross gross. I got a migraine soon after going to bed. That entails throwing up etc- an unfortunate and uncomfortable position... More

We arrived just bedore midnighy and it took us three minutes to decide I am leaving first thing in the morning. This place is dirty, filthy, unsafe and should be reported to the Turkish health and safety body (if there is any). Our room was on the 5th floor and having no lift and no porters it meant I had... It became clear that the Turkish idea od three star hotel facilites and those in the EU do not correspond. The bed at the hotel was comfortable but when rooms are let without windows, the fire exits are through guests bedrooms and the door to the room is locked, are not actual escape routes and the staff are found to... It is small and cramped and dirty but in a good location, the beds were comfy and the water hot.the room had all the necessary things, like hairdriers, TV, Air con, a wall safe but hardly any thing worked! ( except fridge and hairdrier). We also had trouble with... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
