Excellent location within 5 minutes walk of the "Blue" mosque. Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated, the bed was comfortable, shower and toilet clean with reliable hot water. The room was of a good size with adequate storage space and a safe to store valuables. Extremely good value with a good breakfast included in the cost. Would not... More

We had a great couple of days in Istanbul staying at this lovely small family run guesthouse. The guesthouse is in a great location for all of the main sites of the old town. The breakfast contained an excellent selection of typical turkish dishes which were great to try. The staff were very helpful in suggestion sightseeing options for us... More

More than its nice neighborhood, its splendid view of the Bosphorous from rooftop terrace, and the historical sites around it, you will miss the kind and friendly staffs of the guesthouse and the sensation of feeling yourself at your home.

The guest house is located in Istanbul's old town, very close to the city's famous mosques and grand bazaar. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and cozy, and the neighborhood full of small cafes. The terrace has a nice view of Bosporus Strait.

My online reservation was confirmed within an hour and the shuttle from the airport was arranged online so I did not have to worry about navigating my way the first time in Istanbul. I chose a room just above ground floor that opened to the street. I was worried it would be noisy but it was very quiet on this... More

Stayed at this lovely guest house for the first couple of days of our 2-week trip around Turkey. The guesthouse is perfectly located, just off the main tourist area of Sultanahmet and the strips of restaurants and shops. The hotel was able to arrange for airport pick-up after a few phone calls and some trouble locating each other. Still, this... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
