We really enjoyed our stay in Istanbul and in Antique Hotel. Very friendly staff, stunning location, lovely breakfast and a beautiful view from the little breakfast lounge. The only one negative experience was the cigarette smell in the rooms. Otherwise the hotel was clean enough for a short stay. We stood 4 nigths and had at the beginning our doubts....

As with most others who will be reading this, I'm sure you'll have read the other reviews that I scoured through before making my decision on a hotel in Istanbul. I'll perhaps address a few of the other readers concerns that I came across along with my personal opinion of Hotel Antique: -Location was amazing - literally a 3 minute...

The rooms of this hotel are small, but for the price it is more than just good !!! Very friendly staff... helpful 24hours a day! Also, nice terrace with a beautiful view, where we enjoyed our daily ( very tasty ) breakfast ! For people, who are looking for a place closed to every sightseeing and don't wanna pay a...

In the last two years i have been travelling in Turkey many times and when I have to stop in Istanbul i always stay in this pension. I discovered it accidentally, but it's now become a must in my visit, not only for the price or the location (both surprisingly convenient), but also for the family-like welcome. In consideration of...

We stayed from 6 to 10 august 2009. The building was not that one in the picture. Another one 50 metres away. During the second night at three a thief entered the room from the window and stole only a mobile phone because i woke up. Otherwise he would have stolen more. So the following nights we slept with window...

Briefly : I slept there only for one night. It's right behind the Blue Mosque, so in the very center of the city but rooms are quite small and not exactly tidy.

Although this was not an easy place to find (definitely advisable to get a map before you land in Istanbul, and NB the street runs for ever!), once we'd got here we had a really pleasant stay. With a buffet breakfast and towels provided, we really felt this was good value at £15 a night. That's not to say it's...

We chose this hotel for location and rate. Our rooms were not available upon arrival, we were offered tea and coffee and wait for our room. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were housed in the 2nd building around the corner. Our room (corner room, 2 windows) was very nice and comfortable (as was the bed) There are...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
