This place was a treasure and we recommend it highly. Perfect location for seeing all of the Old City, as well as for heading across the Bosphorus or the Golden Horn. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. For example, the owner spent much time on the phone helping me arrange vaarious matters, which I couldn't have done as I don't...

This hotel overlooks the water and from the roof top dining room the Blue Mosque. It is less than 5 minutes away from all of the major sites in the Old Town and from the tram to take you to the Bosphorus tours and spice market. There are many street side restaurants in the area and the staff at the...

We found this hotel to be EVERYTHING one would want in a hotel. It is PERFECTLY located in the Old City for touring the major cultural sites and close to transportation (train station and tram stop) for getting to other sites/locations. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were responsive to any need/request. The rooms are smaller, but certainly...

There are loads of hotels down the hill from the Sultanahmet area and the Cosmopolitan Park is a fine one. The location is terrific, around the corner from the Blue Mosque. The staff went out of there way to be helpful and friendly, including getting us breakfast out of the usual times. The view from the outer rooms and the...

GA 9 reviews Cosmopolitan Park Hotel Great location: 2 minute walk around the block to Hagia Sophia and the palace Exceptional service: the staff are gentlemen Spectacular views: the dining area and rooftop offer breathtaking views Nice rooms: sea side and upper floor rooms (e.g. 403) may be better Good breakfast: fresh fruits, breads, cheeses, and meat plus coffee and...

The hotel is one of the many small cosy hotels in the Sultanahmet-area of Istanbul. It's perfectly within walking distance to all the major cultural sites of Istanbul, yet in a more peaceful side street away from the nosy bars and restaurants. The rooms are small, but clean and freshly decorated. The rooms with sea view are slightly more expensive,...

I stayed, with my daughter, at this hotel in summer 2010. It was a happy stay. This is a budget hotel at great location with a very good breakfast, with a helpfull and friendly staff. Comparing to other budget hotels in same area, pricing was reasonable. Our room was not big, had a tiny balcony+a small fridge+Tv. The bathroom needs...

We look for smaller, well located, less expensive, and clean hotels when we travel. The Cosmopolitan Park meets all these requirements. The location is excellent, very convenient to many of the historic sites, with the added benefit of being able to get to these sites early before the major tour buses arrive. Rooms are modest in size, but adequate, nicely...

This place was a real gouge - and like much of Istanbul, way over-priced. We expected much better value given the exhorbitant 70 euro/ night price for our room - and this was the best deal we could get even for a 5 night stay! Our room was the size of a large closet - only one of us could...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
