I stayed at Sumengen in late May 2016 with my girlfriend and her family and we had a great time. It was very convenient to be located so close to Sultanameh Square. We were 5 min away from it and didn't have the need to get any other transportation besides the metro. The service was very good, they all were...

I stayed at the Hotel Sumengen last summer and loved it. I was there for a week on a tour. Very comfortable and clean rooms, the breakfast spread was incredible and the staff was great. The location can't be beat... just a walk up the street to get to Hagia Sophia and The Blue Mosque (Sultanhamet). I would recommend staying...

The people were lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy, bottled water in the room. Free tea/coffee and pastries in the afternoon. The location was just perfect, a short walk to the Blue Mosque and surrounding area. Spectacular views from the breakfast room and roof balcony.

Firstly i need to say that my review is from when i visited back in late November-December 2015. I travelled with my parents and younger sister as a birthday treat for my mum. We stayed for 5 nights. At first when we approached the hotel, it looked tiny, not something i had booked before. I was dreading it HOWEVER, i...

The hotel was in an excellent location for shopping, eating, and seeing wonderful historic sights. Kerem Erdem, Kayra Yanik, and Ibrhim Guneri were particularly helpful and courteous staff members. Satisfactory breakfast was included. Accommodations were clean and pleasant.

Me and my fiancee went to Istanbul for 3 nights and I'm glad she chosed this hotel to stay at. The receptionist was very kind and he upgraded our room(jaccuzi, big room and a gorgeous view). Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
