We stayed at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel for a total of 5 nights during our 10-day trip to Turkey. The hotel's location is unbeatable. The staff, extremely warm, courteous and friendly. We were a family of four, with a toddler and a 10-year-old boy, so the three-bed hotel room was snug and cosy with all our luggage full of warm...

This is a small hotel, more like a posh B&B in England would be. The staff are kind, friendly, and unfailingly polite. Nothing was too much trouble but they were never intrusive. The breakfast was a lovely local breakfast with lots of choice: fruit, dried fruit, cheeses, bread, cereal, olives,.... the list goes on. It is served on a lovely...

Amazing hotel within walking distance of all the main attractions. It is not on the main road, so it was very quiet. The hotel and the rooms were extremely clean. Very close to tram stop if you wish to visit other parts of Istanbul. Gulhane park is only a few minutes from the hotel, great for running and walking. You...

This small boutique hotel has a great location in the middle of Sultanahmet area of Istanbul, very near many of the important tourist destinations. The staff is extremely helpful. They arranged airport transport, held a bag for us as we were traveling elsewhere, and accommodated us with a room when we arrived exhausted at 5 AM. The breakfast is great,...

My husband and I stayed a total of eight nights, (on four separate occasions) while on a month-long trip in Turkey. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The cradle of civilization...Turkey...From Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...They all lived here. A city that gave birth to and fostered three glorious empires...The East Roman empire, the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman empire...Once the capital city of these empires, Istanbul is still alive and breathing a mystical blend of air, weary of the contemprary urbanization and cultural clashes. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar. And maybe you will top it with the Blue Mosque or the Topkapi Palace... ... more   less
