This place is in a great location. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast was really good, a big buffet with lots of variety, lots of fresh fruit, preserved fruits, yoghurts, cheeses, cereals, breadsand salads plus hot food. The service was good - they didn't speak a lot of English but they were certainly very helpful which is all that matters.

After 26 hours of flying I needed a big rest. I got it at the Golden Horn Hotel. It was exactly what I needed. Friendly, accomodating staff. Decent sized rooms. Wifi. Quiet, which is suprising due to its locatation. Would stay here again.

Great hotel in a good location. All the main attractions in Istanbul are walking distance from the hotel. The staff were friendly and Medeni was very helpful. Loved the tea and Turkish delight that was complimentary every day at 3pm. The buffet breakfast was also fantastic.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in April and again for a night when I finished a tour. From what I understand is a common mistake, my travel agent accidentally booked me at their 'sister' Golden Horn hotel a couple of blocks away. Both hotels were great and the service was fabulous. They even transferred my bags for...

The hotel is tucked away behind the Sirkeci train station. The views of the Bosphorous are only from the higher floors; Some rooms are extremely tiny & cramped; we were given such a room in the beginning, but then the smiling & helpful staff gave us a larger room. Bathrooms are clean, fittings are not exactly top of the line,...

I stayed at Hotel Golden Horn for 1 night as part of an Intrepid tour and also extended my stay after the tour was over. I found this hotel to be in an excellent and safe neighbourhood and I was a solo female traveler walking every where. It is close to the Orient express station, a police station, many shops...

If you're looking for the perfect view of the Bosphorus Bay then this is the hotel to choose but my advice to you is to book upper floor rooms in the 4th floor or the 5th and to be with a view, it is more expensive but worth it they overlook the Galatatower and Sulymanya mosque. The rooms are a...

We could chose any other hotel in Istanbul, but maybe intuition helped us to book a room in the Golden Horn Istanbul...and we were absolutely right!!! Amazing hotel!!! Best of the best in that area!! Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
