If the location of your hotel is important for your stay in Istanbul. then the Legend is the place for you. At the botton of the street is the old Roman Hippodrome and just a few minutes walk further and you are at the Blue Mosque, opposite is St.Sophia and a few steps further the Topkapi Palace, all right on...

When we arrived the hotel was double booked and we were put in a hotel down the road overnight which was awful. The Legend is quite pleasant and the staff are very helpful and accomodating. Location is very good - and the views from the roof very good !

One of the more difficult experiences in a life-time of travel. Made a reservation over a month before our trip and confirmed it a week before arrival, but when we arrived they did not a have a room and moved us to another hotel in the sleaziest neighborhood--a really scarey scene for a seasoned New Yorker and mid-east frequent traveller....

Really shabby. Smells of cigarettes. Rooms on the front are extremely noisy. I can see that in summer, with the roof terrrace, it will have more to offer but there are better choices.

Legend is nothing like the photos, the whole experience has been not a pleasant one. The rooms are badly furnished with shabby, old furniture, smokey corridors, an uninspiring breakfast, overall it was a complete waste of time and money. Hotels in the area such as Nena, for something like 5 to 10 euros more offer a completely different service and...

I booked this hotel largely on the basis of reviews that other travellers had posted. It is located in a side street not far from some of the cities leading attractions. The staff were helpful and offered us a choice of three rooms, which was unexpected, but welcome all the same. Our room smelt of tobacco smoke, which I imagine...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
