I was on my own and given a room with unlocked connecting door to another room. The hotel does not have a non smoking policy as there are ashtrays in the rooms and smell of smoke in the corridors. Furniture is old and brown and in need of repair. I stayed on the 4th floor and couldn't sleep because of...

My experience was fairly great. We received awesome service during our stay, although we didn't get to interact more with the staff. The hotel was across from one of the historical sites, in a crowded area with lots of restaurants. The hotel is located in a busy area, it can be a bit load. If you're looking for a quite...

Princess hotel is located in the Ortakoy Istanbul's quarter - nicely situated close to Bosphorus, in the vivid surrounding. Rooms are spacious and perfectly clean. Beds are excellent. There is a shortage of wardrobe hangers. Stuff is very friendly and professional. Breakfasts are of good quality. A lot of bars and restaurants in the close vicinity. We have stayed there...

I've been there a few times - very nice people. Very good location, near all the important places. Two minutes from a wharf. Near Mosques, a Church and a Synagogue. In Istanbul don't drive - take cabs. Driving there is very difficult with the narrow, winding streets. Enjoy.

I've recently stayed at this hotel in February 2016. Staff: very friendly, though not everyone can speak English. They will still work out what your asking for and help as best they can. Room: The bed was comfy, sheets clean and changed every few days. The room at quick glance would rival most 4 star hotels. Though on a closer...

Good for business & pleasure, with relaxing swimmingpool, with 2 conditions: - you must ask for a refurbished room - ask for a swimming pool room if you don t want to hear the noise from the stree, i mean big noise. But also hope not to have a swimmin pool party :) Here you might have a great time......

Stayed at Ortakoy Princess hotel during the Christmas and the full blown winter period in Istanbul. They were doing a lot of repairs and the place was not conducive. The bed I slept in was narrow and because we had our son with us it was a long night. It's recommended though for people with low budget.

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
