We stayed there for 8 nights, the staff was very helpful and friendly. They'd guide you to places if you need. There's a grocery nextdoor where you can find basic fruits and veggies and stuff. Rooms were cleaned daily. nice building and quite place but our room was near the road so it was relatively noisy. The hotel has everything... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful - especailly Hayati - most of them have good knowledge of english (which is not common in turkey) the rooms were always clean, and have the essentials, with private bath and small fridge for each room. above all, the view form the... This hotel made our trip to Istanbul perfect. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. They made us feel totally welcome during our whole stay - including when we arrived at 4am! The free pick-up and drop-off to the airport provided by the hotel were very handy. The hotel is less than a 5-10min walk from the Blue Mosque... More

Just returned from three wonderful days in Istanbul where we stayed in the Tashkonak hotel. The hotel is well located, in walking distance of all the famous must see attractions. Our room was spacious enough for a city visit. Most important it was clean, as was the entire hotel. The staff was friendly and understood what good hostmanship means. The... More

We had a great week at the Tashkonak Hotel in Istanbul - the location is wonderful, just minutes walk away from the main historical sights. The best thing was the quality of the staff. They were helpful, attentive (but not pushy), sensitive and we felt well looked after. They knew a lot about the city, where to go, and how... More

My wife, friends and I stayed at Tashkonak in September 2010 during the FIBA World basketball championships. The hotel was very well located (less than 10 min from Blue Mosque), clean, with small but functional rooms. The service was excellent and very friendly - the front desk staff in particular was always ready to help with advice, directions, etc. We... More

We stayed here for the final three nights of our trip to Turkey and had a great time. The rooms were small but efficient. My room had a king size bed and looked out over the inside terrace so it was very quiet at night. It was clean and had a spacious bathroom. The staff are wonderful - every restaurant... More

Conveniently located close to major attractions of the city on a quiet side street. The hotel has an inside-court garden which adds to it charm. Good hearty breakfast included in the price. View of the Marmara Sea from the breakfast terrace is refreshing(if you ignore some roofs of the nearby houses).Room though not spacious according to the North American standards... More

Our party of four recently had a four night and one night stay. The hotel offers excellent customer service, and is obviously well managed. Reservations: Email communications with Coskun were returned promptly, and all questions were answered. Our room requests were satisfied, and our rooms were ready on both arrivals. This is welcome after a long international flight. Transportation: We... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
