My wife and I stayed in Istanbul for nearly 10 months for work, and we started here at Tashkonak. That was one of the best decisions we could ever have made. We made an initial reservation online for about 1 week; they picked us up...More
The view from the breakfast terrace alone is amazing, but the yummy food helps too and the hotel is well-located for walking to everything and yet is off in a quiet street. The staff were just lovely (the woman who runs the breakfast buffet helped...More
a quiet street in the most interesting area for visitors. good food, travel agents, fascinating sights nearby. comfy, clean rooms. delightful hotel staff are like having turkish cousins. i found Tashkonak by accident three years ago and now I stay there every year.
The best place to visit Istanbul.
Extremely helpful, kind, polite and generous staff.
Very clean and quiet.
Beautiful view from the roof-terrace where the delicious breakfast is offered.

Friendly, helpful staff, lovely breakfast on an enclosed rooftop terrace, lovely patio garden, clean, comfortable room -- all at a very reasonable price and in a super location just below the Blue Mosque. Couldn't ask for anything more! The hotel is located in a heritage...More
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to
retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
