This hotel is a real gem - in the old part of the city, 5 minutes walk from the sea and 5-10 minutes from the major tourist sights. The staff could not have been more helpful - from our free airport pickup to detailed information and directions for sightseeing. And while some hotels look and feel like they could be...

Hotel Sapphire is a nice hotel with good and clean rooms with kind and helpfull staff. Breakfast is very well: you can choose it yourself. When leaving the hotel we forgot something that was still in the safetybox. The staff found it and sent it to us in Holland. The room was cleaned intensively every day. Also outside the rooms...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Sapphire. It was on a narrow street with no cars but lots of restaurants nearby. It was an easy walk to anyplace in the old city. The trolley stop was one street away. They had cards at the desk to show taxi drivers where to go which was very handy since many...

Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough - when I had a problem they went out of their way to make sure it came to a resolution. The facilities are excellent , the location supurb (perhaps not if you're driving). The staff friendly, an excellent choice of breakfast (tip - sit to the left of the lift at breakfast - it...

We stayed at Sapphire at the end of August and we had two rooms: a single and a twin one. Positives: Very convenient and quiet location in Sultanahmet area (on a pedestrian street), between 10 to 15 minutes walk to Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Pretty and clean rooms with nice modern bathrooms. The rooms were small (smaller...

Moreover the staff is really great, everybody is nice and ready to help and find any kind of solution. If you will contact them directly ask for Harun, he is...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
