Spent a few days at this hotel whilst attending a conference in Istanbul. Very close to Taksim Square (central transport hub). Hotel is modern and staff very friendly and attentive. Room a reasonable size, although second floor rooms can be a bit noisy from street below. Free use of business facilities and wi-fi. Breakfast had plenty of choice. The old...

We were a family of 6 adults who stayed at nippon for 4 nights in the first week of september. We were warmly welcomed with "turkish delight" sweets and the check in process was swift. The reception and the concierge are very good and helpful in getting reservations to the hammam/dinner/clubs etc and also recommending places to go. The hotel...

excellent location as u can visit all places. its more of a business hotel n not a touristy one. but one thing tht was not appreciated was the external things they refer about like the hammam n the traditional dance with dinner (sultana's), both the places were not good so it is better to find better places. rooms are nice...

I only stayed one nigthe in this hotel but I liked its location, very near Taksim Place, the room although small had everything you can ask, nice colours, good bed and pillows, nice bathroom, robe and slippers, complimentary water, electrical kettle with tea and coffee, newspaper, etc. In the executive pack they offer to wash and iron your shirt and...

Nippon hotel is a good hotel which offers the general service. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. It is very close to the shopping street and Taksim square. I liked the breakfast and lunch at the hotel, there were many tasty options and juices were good too. Many nice bakeries nearby also. You should note that they actually lock...

The Nippon hotel is in the centre of Istanbul (on the European side) and around 5 minutes walk away from Taksim Square. This is of course perfect, because when you want to sight see you can get on the train from Taksim and the train will take you straight to the popular sights. The staff are very friendly and helpful...

I stayed at Nippon Hotel for a couple of days in each of the last 3 years. I really enjoyed staying there especially for the efficiency and warmth of the staff, the quality of room service, the location, the cleanliness of rooms and the food. The staff is very helpful and friendly with adequate English. Even in the middle of...

My cousins and I spent 5 nights here last week (July/Aug 2012). We were nervous about staying so long at a place we didn't know much about, but we were pleasantly surprised. As soon as we arrived, we felt welcomed. The staff informed us that our cousin had already arrived and provided us with our keys. The room included a...

Let me start by stating that the Nippon Hotel is definitely NOT a four star hotel. The small size of the superior room is nothing compared to the other imperfections of the hotel. First of all, the house-keeping was a disaster. There was supposed to be two bottles of complimentary water and there were TWO occasions where they failed to...

We spent three nights here and were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a suite when we checked in with our two kids. The suite provided us with plenty of room to move around and sleep comfortably even with a toddler bed and baby cot included. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a pleasant...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
