Lovely place with a comfy family friendly atmosphere. Perfect location. Yummy breakfasts and very kind and friendly staff. I'd recommend everybody who is looking for money value.

This hotel fills the basic needs of a traveller, though there's nothing special or extra to it. The location is a bit far for walking to the top tourist sites, but the area itself is a lot more peaceful than, say, Sultanahmet district. The room we stayed in was very small and the walls were quite thin - I used...

I found this hotel pleasant enough, but nothing special. The location is quite a good base for exploring the Old Town (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Tokapi palace etc). The rooms were clean but basic. Staff were a bit hit-and-miss; some very helpful and informative, other not so much. Breakfast, again, good but not spectacular. I have no real complains about...

The hotel is just very average. It is fairly well located near a tram station, and a few minutes walk to Grand Bazaar, and a few minutes more to some of the other great tourist sites: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Sulemanye Mosque, etc. The hotel was clean, well presented, and the room i had was very neat. it...

This was a great hotel. Hotel Barin is located in the heart of old town, close to all the old town attractions and within walking distance of train station, but there is a metro from airport and a tram very close by. Hotel staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were clean. Very good value for the dollar. Lots of local...

the hotel is almost nice, but there are lots of details which just are no-good. Our room there: room 112. Little, dark, small. The window faces an internal cloister full of stairs and the worst imaginable smell from the kitchen. Continuous noise from the electric motors of all the air conditioners of all the other rooms never stops and is...

I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was clean, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. I probably won´t be returning to the Hotel Barin any time soon, however, because of the location. It is just a bit too far from the major tourist attractions. You can walk to the Grand...

We were assigned an excellent room, in fact, a family suite with a balcony overlooking the street, at a very good price. Good location ( though next time I would try the new part of Istanbul) at walking distance from the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Great Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. Polite staff too.

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
