The room was comfortable, the breakfast was nourishing and the staff were polite & helpful. The biggest advantage is the proximity to the main tourist attractions, at a 10 minute walk to hagia sophia. All in all, great hotel!

Sude Konak was a fantastic little hotel in the perfect location. The folks at the front desk were extremely helpful and knowledgable. The hotel is nicely situated where, if you're up for it, you can walk to any of the major landmarks within 15-20 minutes. If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk across the bridge to Beyoglu in about 30...

I loved this hotel. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable and we had an amazing view from the balcony of Hagia Sophia. Breakfast every morning was full of choices and we sat on the terrace every night to enjoy a beer and the view. The staff were fantastic.

Our Turkish travel agent booked this hotel, he requested a double room and a view, instead we arrive and have a triple room with 3 single beds, no space and no view despite being on level 5. We told reception, they can barely understand English and said nothing else was available and that we had the best room in the...

Nothing fancy. A good location and great view of the Haggia Sophia make this place stand out, but apart from that there isn't much to say. Rooms are very small so bring a friend and not your whole family. The street is very noisy at night so be sure to close your windows.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
