This hotel is bang right on Taksim square so you are in the middle of all the action the moment you step out of the hotel. If this is what you want then the location of this hotel is perfect. The lobby area is very quaint and well done up and the service at the front office is very good. The rooms are a little small especially since we had an extra bed put in for our daughter, however, this is a city hotel and you cant expect them to have large rooms. The rooms facing the Taksim square can get very noisy thru the day and night because there is a lot of people movement outside. This got actually quite bad over the weekend when everyone was out partying till late and we really had a problem getting to sleep. However, you do have a choice of choosing a room overlooking the by lanes which are not noisy and quite peaceful. Loads of things to do just a short walk out of the hotel - loads of restaurants, street performers, street food, shopping etc. The very famous 'Istiklal street' is just a 2 - 3 minutes walk from the hotel. …
Probably one of the best locations right at Taksim square, the restaurant offers a daily menu at lunch which is super good and at a very reasonable price, don't miss it!, the terrace offers good cocktails and view of the square, Gokhan at the reception is super good and helpful always with great attitude to help you in English which is not easy to find in Turkey and the rooms are without noise even looking at the square they have good noise protection windows and beds are very comfortable and bath with all you need.
My wife and I have just returned back from Germir Palace hotel where we spent 3 nights. This was our first trip to Turkey and it was first part of our honeymoon. We chose the hotel based on the beautiful surroundings and facilities around. The hotel didn’t dissapoint on any level. The room were beautiful and very clean, with good excess to the local tourist attractions. The quality of mattress and linens were excellent as well. And last but not least all the staffs were really helpful and concerned and they paid attention to the success of our stay every moment of the day, with good and personal advice. A lot of thanks to staffs. Especially Sedat & Ali. Would definitely come back soon.
I stayed at Germir Palas hotel, Taksim square, Istanbul, Turkey, from January 27th to February 1st., 2020. The hotel is a few minutes away from the airport shuttle bus station and in the centre of Taksim square. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. The room is very clean and the breakfast buffet has lots of varieties. It is a great place to stay at during your visit to Istanbul.
Small but very nice hotel for two people The hotel has a wonderful decor in an old classic style The reception and restaurant staff are good at handling but hard to get a smile from them Breakfast is varied, the same basic items are frequent every day The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the metro station, as well as Taksim Square and Istiklal Street, but there is difficulty in getting taxis to the hotel door
The Germir Palas is in a brilliant location on the edge of Taksim Square. it is close to the bus stops, the Taksim Metro and the funicular to Kabatas. It is also located close to Istiklal Caddesi and all it's attractions. Designed to resemble a 1920''s Pera club, this building is a relatively new build with all mod cons - think comfortable beds, meticulously clean rooms, elevators and endless hot water. The service is friendly and helpful. The bars also have copious supplies of cold beer to help ease the stress of being a busy tourist. Of course there is a but. The much vaunted roof top breakfast area and bar has a limited Bosphorus view, between other buildings. However, the most disappointing aspect of this hotel was the breakfast. While the food was plentiful, the coffee was terrible and the eggs were always cold. At this price point in Istanbul I have come to expect much better. The 'internatioal' menu is a strange combination of styles - but if you didn't want to leave the hotel it was adequate.…
First things first, I would like to send my regards and many thanks to the hotel authorities and personnel. I had numerous travels to Istanbul and residid in many hotels, but this one was “special class” by all means. I’m a super fan of english 1940’s design and decoration and it kinda felt like I literally live in a dream. Apart from that, staff were helpful, well-trained and managed, and most of all really thoughtful. I’m a naggy person and it was the first time in all my travels that I had no complaints. By the way, thank you Germir Palas for your nice surprise. I suggest this property for the ones who seek perfection.
Even though our room was too small for us (3 people), we had a pleasant stay in Germir Palas as the management and the staff are quite professional and caring, the rooms are neat and clean, amenities are great and you have an unbelievable access to public transport, needless to say Taksim square has a lot to see... (we had a fabulous Turkish coffee on arrival, which we weren't charged for as the welcoming drink, I'm not sure if this is their routine) Anyhow, Germir is highly recommended for couples...
I didn't actually stay there but I came in to use the bathroom and forgot my expensive sunglasses. I called the hotel hours later and they had found them and kept them for me. From my limited perspective it's a very safe and friendly hotel.
The hotel is located so close to taksim square. When we first arrived to the hotel the staff greeted us not so well they seemed tired and not smiling! The breakfast is so poor not a big variety of food available and its kind of boring. The room service was good they cleaned the room everyday. Overall it was good but the breakfast needed to be more rich.
