They rather gave my friends a smaller room. The hotel staff recommended a restaurant with a free shuttle. Food was expensive, cats were all over your feet, the price was too...

After a very filling buffet, breakfast all the great places to visit are a walking distance away or if you fancy a tram away for 2.00 Lire . Bunyamin the Front desk was a great host and...

Hotel Valide Sultan Konagi is situated in Sultanahmet in the center of 'old' Istanbul. Topkapi Serail and Hagia Sophia are in a 5 minute walking distance, Sultan Ahmet mosque is 10 minutes away. The hotel is small, 17 rooms only, which are nicely furnished in classic style and flawlessly clean. The bathroom is modern, well-kept and also absolutely clean. The...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
