We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful old hotel room 301 which looks directly over The Blue Mosque...wow factor or what! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Although we only booked bed and breakfast we did eat dinner in the hotel and it was delicious.... as were the breakfasts. The Sultanahmet area is the perfect area to base yourself....

stayed 4 nights at Sultanahmet Palace. It is a fantastic boutique hotel, but it is little bit expensive. The hotel is close to everywhere in Sultanahmet, blue mosque, restaurants, cafes... The view from the room was wonderful. i recommend this hotel.

We just returned from a 7 night stay at this lovely hotel. The location is wonderful and has plenty of great restaurants nearby without having to go toward the main streets. Directly across from the Blue Mosque, the views at night are stunning. While close to the historical sites, the hotel was surprisingly quiet. Be prepared for the morning call...

My husband and I stayed three nights here at the end of a 3-week tour of Turkey. The first room offered was small and stifling. We requested a change and after two more attempts to find a cooler room, we were offered room #302, which was exceptional: spacious, king bed, Turkish bath (fun!), balcony with views of the Sea of...

First the positives: very clean, right near Old Town and many major museums, mosques and bazaars; great included breakfast, perfect pillows and an amazing view of the Blue Mosque. Now the not-so-positives: the bathroom was impossible! Hard to get to the toilet, the shower sprayed water all over the floor and there was no room to move. The beds were...

Highly recommend this hotel. My husband and I have stayed here on two separate trips to Istanbul, and find the staff extremely helpful, very professional, and fluent in English. Breakfast buffet is great blend of typical Turkish and American breakfast items. Best location in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul - right next to the Blue Mosque, and many rooms have...

My wife and I stayed here for four nights on our first visit to Istanbul I travel extensively for work in Europe and the US and at first had some qualms as this is not the usual identikit hotel I am used to (predictable facilities, minibar, roo service etc etc). However it is clean, friendly and superbly located. The staff...

The Sultanahmet area in Istanbul is a busy area, but Sultanahmet Palace Hotel makes it a pleasure to stay. Just across the street from Blue Mosque, entering through a quiet front yard with a water fountain, you are transported back in time. The breakfast area/restaurant overlooking the Marmara Sea makes it a pleasure to sit and relax before or after...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
