A small friendly hotel in a fantastic position for sightseeing Sitting on the roof terrace for breakfast, snacks and drinks you have fantastic views of the Bosphorus, the Blue Mosque and the City. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were of adequate size with comfy beds. All six of us were really happy at the hotel...

We choose the Dersaadet hotel on the advice of friends. As our friends told us, the hotel was a very nice, clean hotel near the Blue Mosque. Our room was small (they have bigger rooms) but very comfortable and very adequate. The staff was very helpful with information on things to see and how to get there. They had a...

Dersaadet offers complimentary airport pickup with I think a 3 night stay. Located by the Blue Mosque, it is more or less in the center of things as a short walk will get you to the key sites. Be prepared for the call to prayer though as this hotel is right next to loudspeakers for one, if not two, mosques....

I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Istanbul. It's only a couple of streets away from the Blue Mosque and Ayasofya, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of central Sultanahmet. My husband and i were celebrating our anniversary, and it was a lovely surprise to find, upon entering our room, a complimentary bottle...

This is a comfortable, clean and ideal for all your sightseeing trips. Would have preferred a room that didn't back onto the street as this was a bit noisy, so don't take room 201 or 202. and it does say that rooms have sea view, but this is not the case. My daughter had the corner suite and even that...

We booked this hotel on the strength of Tripadvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. The location is fantastic, close to the tram system, the main sights and not far from the ferries either. We arrived to be told we had been upgraded to a suite! All the staff were courteous yet friendly and spoke very good English. They were also keen...

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English. We deliberately chose a 'traditional' style of hotel, and enjoyed its features along with an excellent modern en-suite shower room, and free internet access at all times. We had a good view of the Blue Mosque at breakfast, and we were within an easy walk of many top sites....

great location (you can see the Blue Mosque from the rooftop dining area), comfortable rooms, and a great staff.....I had stared a three week trek with a stopover in Istanbul, and discovered that I had forgotten to bring a watch or a clock. The receptionist at the Hotel Dersaadet not only found me a small clock...he gave it to me!!...

The Dersaadet is a small hotel and this might account for the good deal and quality of service we received. Even before we got there, the staff were going the extra mile, always quick to answer e-mailed questions about the accommodation and transport. This high level of service continued from the moment we arrived, with friendly, multilingual staff always on...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
