The Nena Hotel is a modest but comfortable one, conveniently located near the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The staff were very friendly and helpful in booking tours if needed. The breakfast room on the top floor has a fabulous view of the water. I enjoyed sitting in the lounge just off the lobby which was...

Great location but oh my we must have had the worst room in the hotel. There was no a/c and the room was too hot. There was no window to open for fresh air and no view either. It was like sleeping in a cupboard ! Breakfast was ok.

Breakfest area very comfortable with a good view and good range of choices. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed clean and comfortable. Hotel Nena was a nice little hotel in heart of Istanbul old town. This was out first time to Istanbul so we came into it a little blind, but we fell on our feet with this hotel. If you are only in Istanbul for a couple of days I would recommend this hotel as its location allows you to walk...

The hotel is in a great location, beside a tram line, and 5 mins walk from the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very good, the rooms are a good size. They had a free transfer to and airport, which was very helpful. Lovely place, no complaints.

We stayed in Nena hotel for 7 nights. The hotel was so nice, clean and well organized. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was amazing, nice view and excellent food. The location is the best, very close to the historical places of Istanbul, and just in front of the metro station. If I will visit Istanbul...

This is a fabulous hotel at a great price. The staff are fantastic, they really mean 'if you are happy - we are happy". Decent buffet breakfast with good coffee and a terrific view over the Blue Mosque. The 'sea bass' I had for dinner was excellent. My room had everything but a kettle which would be the only thing...

We recently stayed at the Nena for 7 nights at the end of November. I booked the hotel on their own website and received two discounts...one for booking early and another for paying cash. The value was outstanding as the booking also included airport transfers (to and from) and a fantastic breakfast every morning. The rooms were a little small,...

From the first step that you try to make arriving in front of the Hotel Nena you start experiencing it. Yes, it is what hospitality is all about. You can't even carry your own handbag they look after every single detail of your exhausted tourist soul. We've come to Istanbul from Australia, and that means super long flight that exhausted...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
