Charming little hotel in the heart of Old Town with a fantastic view from the roof terrace! The staff is so helpful and friendly. Hotel Uyan is very near the main attractions, easy to visit all of them like Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, the Great Bazar, the Topkapi Palace. The old lux train Orient Express has still it's spirit on... More

The Uyan Hotel is wonderful and perfectly located. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia. In just a few minutes walk you can reach many Istanbul tourist attractions in Sultanahmet and the tram is closeby for further exploring. We enjoy having breakfast on the terrace. Rooms are large, very nicely... More

While many hotels are empty because of a large drop in the volume of visitors this one was not. We had room 402, comfortable, clean and spacious, as others have described, but at night a whole section of it is unlit so unusable. Despite clear and timely requests the hotel failed to provide a pick-up from the airport on arrival... More

Charming hotel with rooftop views of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Within walking distance to all the main tourist sites in Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Haghia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern) as well as the tram (easy connection to the airport and ferry to the Asian side). Offers free breakfast (though it's worth going to a restaurant at least one... More

My wife and I stayed here during a recent vacation to Istanbul. It's a beautiful hotel in the heart of the Sultanhamet, right around the corner from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia, so the location can't be beat. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the area, and the Aresta Bazaar is only a block away. The... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
