This is my favourite place in the city to come for dinner and especially for cocktails. The staff are always very efficient, the location warm and welcoming without being overly over the top. It's a beautiful building that used to be a prison that has been tastefully rebuilt and furnished. One of the best hotels for me in Istanbul. It...

My family and I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet for 4 nights. We initially planned to stay for only 2 nights and then move to the Four Seasons Hotel at the Bosphorus. We decided to stay on because we loved the atmosphere at the hotel and its neighbourhood. In addition, the hotel's proximity to surrounding amenities...

This luxury 5* horel is mixture of turkish heritage from the past and modern concept. All of that is perfecly fit in this wonderful palace at the Bosphorus. This hotel and it's accomodation and services will make you feel as a special guest! This is a city full of contrasts, mixture of past and future, east and west. If you...

Built in an old prison, this is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen. The staff and service are top notch and the rooms are elegant and beyond comfortable, with no detail going unnoticed. My wife left her reading glasses on the bedside table and the housekeeping team even left a glasses wipe! Small things like that make...

Amazing old building with a very friendly staff. excellent the breakfast is a menu based. no open buffet but it has a wide variety of options. my stay was in a classic room which was little bit small and very standard in general but clean and the housekeeping round twice...

Short review: A gorgeous hotel in the centre of the historic district, just a 2 minute stroll from the huge square between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We would certainly return, as we love the hotel, its location, and Sultanahmet. Longer review: To get here successfully, do carry with you a note of the hotel name, address and phone...

After two weeks of traveling, this was by far the best hotel. the beds were comfortable, the staff was above and beyond accommodating and you can't get closer to the Hagai Sophia! One night we had tea on the roof with the perfect view. I will definitely return!

A good hotel in the heart of Istanbul. A splash of luxury from the moment you walk in this hotel. Service was good but there was something missing. Breakfasts delicious. All in all a very good hotel but they must try a little harder for excellence!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
