It's definitely one of the most efficient operations I've ever seen in my life. The hotel is run by a brother and a sister, both college students assisted by one Armenian lady and sometimes, their mother. A "konak" is traditionally a Turkish family house, the siblings bought this konak and converted it into a really cozy hotel. The hotel is...

We were looking for a budget accommodation and the Marmara Konak was a perfect choice. We had a room with sea view, which unfortunately cannot be really enjoyed as you overlook a main road and the harbour which is under construction, but that's beyond the hotels control. The Pros: - good price - great location - very friendly and warm...

The location in the old city was very quaint and superb. Very close to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and able to walk to all major places of interest or to nearby trams if you want to use public transport. The staff were very accommodating and wanted to make sure that our stay was memorable. Highly recommended

The Marmara is located in Sultanahmet, within a stone's throw of the major sights - Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque (as well as other major mosques), Grand Bazaar and many of the major museums are within easy walking distance. It's great for a first-time visit. Our room had views of the sea - there is a major road, but double glazing...

We stayed in this lovely new guest house of our last night in Istanbul, wished we could have stayed longer. We needed an extra night in Istanbul, and our other hotel we were staying at did not have room and organised us to stay here. If we didn't have a driver who knew where he was going we would not...

During my first visit to İstanbul, I decided to stay at a central and historic place. I found Marmara Konak through my Korean friends who stayed there a couple of months ago. The crew has been really helpful with shopping and sightseeing opportunities/possibilities from the beginning since some of them spoke fluent English. So, it has been easy for me...

It was quite difficult to find, as the hotel (or rather small guesthouse) doesn't bear any sign - in fact we were spotted by the owner while debating over the city map in the middle of the night :) The place is located at quiet street near the Blue Mosque (6 a.m. wake up call by muezzin included), over the...
