The title says it all. On arrival we were given a triple room that was made of a doble bed and a run down sofa bed, Ok not ideal, but can live with it. Floor is made of wood therefore you can hear the structure ckrackling all the time when people in other rooms walk or move around, Ok, again not the best if you´re hoping for some rest, but not the worst. Pillows and matters need a good upgrade, necka and backage guaranteed after one night in these beds, sheets were dirty, the badrooms really needed some cleaning and ideally some work to get rid of the stains of humidity. In the 4 nights we stayed the room was not done once, only when we told the reception guy that towels needed to be changed. On the last night we were told that we needed to change rooms, and were moved to an even smaller room, after trying to explain to the person in reception that this was not ideal, he started shouting and not letting us talk or explain. His rudness and unwillingness to provide a solution to his own fault was the last straw. I wouldnt recomend this place, there are many other options available at cheaper prices. Regardless of our experience, which may have been unlucky the hotel lacks any facilities, the rooms are old and dirty and the personal are nothing but unwelcoming. AVOID AT ALL COSTS…

The hotel is located in the historical part of Istanbul. Within a few minutes you can walk to various attractions. There are also many shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. The good-natured and hospitable owner met me, showed me where you can buy food cheaper. When checking in and out of the hotel, he called me a taxi. Free tea and coffee is available in the lobby. Because of the friendly environment, you can easily make friends with someone.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but it has definately seen better days. The hotel looks to have been a residential house in the past. The house was clearly converted to a hotel. From the past reviews I'm assuming the hotel was very nice and clean. Not so much now. The rooms are large enough but dated. We were a rather large group so we had rooms on the second and third floors. And carrying large suitcases up to the third floor was definitely a workout. The rooms on the third floor had signs of previous water damage. The ceiling was cracked and peeling fron the damage. There was also water marks and mold in the bathrooms. The towels were very hard and rough to the touch. The lobby was basically run down and dated. The hotel is really within walking distance from the Blue Mosque and thr Grand Bazaar. But be prepared, there are a lot of hills to walk up on cobblestone streets. We stayed a total of 30 hours. Any stay longer than 24 hours is not recommended. If you like soft sheets and towels or rooms without mold this is not the hotel for you. …

Very nice place. People are very friendly and will do everything to accommodate and help you if you face a problem. It is an old historic building so do not accept so much but rooms are great. Breakfast is very good, do not miss it.

Oba Hotel is an exquisite, boutique hotel in the heart of the old city of Istanbul. My husband and I stayed at the hotel for the last two years and we intent to come back. The most welcoming feature of the hotel, is his host, Ayhan, who is exhibiting every bit of warm hospitality, professional attitude, accommodation and friendliness toward his guests. He is kind and amenable to assist in booking trips from the airport to the hotel, room accommodations, excursions in the city and around, as well as to extend his professional advice just about anything in Istanbul and Turkey. It was a real pleasure to have him as our host. Thank you, Ayhan. Oba Hotel is a cozy place, decorated in typical Turkish style: intricate woodwork on the doors, stained glass windows, traditional Turkish furniture, etc. Free Wi-Fi is included, PCR was arranged at the hotel upon guests’ request. We would highly recommend this place for a stay over in Istanbul for its welcoming host, its well maintained and decorated interior and its location.…

We have been to this hotel - two years in row. And we are planning to go there next time we are in Istanbul as well First time we were there September 2020 for 9 days Second time in October 2021 for 5 days. This is hotel that has all the explorer needs fully covered: The hospitality is superb. The staff was very nice and helpful with all our requests. Clean and cozy room, bathroom with shower cabin, Free Wi-Fi. (Very nice wooden trim) There is lobby with few tables, coffee and tea. This year there was a PSR test available at the hotel as well. My spouse was concerned of the mosque next door ... But after first night we do not even notice the calling for prayers. In the close proximity in the neighbourhood there are bakeries, food places and general stores. They are good for any meal or snack.…

I have been a fan of the Oba hotel for many years. It provides all the best qualities of a boutique hotel and it is located only steps from all the sights you are likely to visit. Istanbul has many boutique hotels. None is better than the Oba. The decor has been carefully renovated and offers the visitor a lovely view of the interior of the traditional Turkish home. Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast before setting off to see Istanbul knowing you have the comforts of the Oba awaiting your return. Tulay and Ismail have succeeded in creating the perfect hotel. It is up to you to enjoy it.

We have stayed at the Oba, numerous times over the years since it first opened. This family owned and operated small boutiques hotel in the Sultanahmet neighborhood is a gem. The staff are friendly, personable and helpful in every way. Providing transfer services, arranging cars, tours or just providing information. The hotel is clean and in a favorable location. I am aware that it has recently reopened after Covid and have spoken with the owners about the steps they have taken to ensure health and safety. I would recommend this hotel to you.
