Stayed with my husband for 4 nights. We made a last minute booking and got very lucky to have apt no. 4 available for us. The room is very spacious with very comfortable bed and extra pillows. We really love how the entire apartment and the room are aesthetically designed with great attention to details. The apt is only 5...

We stayed in the apartment on the top floor & could not have asked for a better place to stay. We spent 4 nights with the most amazing view over the Bosphorus. Each night we had evening drinks watching the sun set over the Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia & the Blue Mosque. The Galata area is close to everything including...

The location is fantastic, central to everything one expects to see and do in Istanbul. The building is old, but beautifully renovated with original architectural integrity intact and modern amenities enhanced.: wifi, elevator, kitchenette, quality linens and toiletries, excellent mattress (great sleep), security and parking. The owners are the best-ever, kind and helpful ... making our visit thoroughly enjoyable. If...

We stayed in the penthouse for four nights in April. For me, the best thing about the apartment was the view and the building manager, Zeynep. She was extremely helpful even after we relocated to different apartment! The penthouse had the view of old town and the Bosphorus. It was so pretty we could stay in the apartment all day...

Apartment was lovely - building had character but was fitted out with modern fittings. Had a small kitchenette, which is handy if you don't want to go out for every meal. Apartment was cleaned every day. Great location - near Galata Tower and nightlife. Easy to get to Sultanahmet by funicular and tram. Zeynep the owner was very helpful.

First, for those debating whether to stay in Beyoglu vs Sultanahmet - definitely go with the former. Metro to the Old City is quick and easy - and it's fun to be in the part of the city that stays up/open all night. As for choices of where to stay - the Serdar-i Ekrem was very nice - it's about...

Friends and I had two rooms for 6 nights in April. We loved the actual accomodation as well as the location of the property. For the last few nights, our friends stayed in the top floor and the views were amazing!!! Would definitely recommend that unit if you can get it!! The location is very close to lots of restaurants...

We stayed at the hotel for 6 days in March, 2013. We would like to emphasize several aspects: a very good location, nice design of the rooms with all the stuff needed. And the most important: a really professional manager Zeynep, always ready to help and to show all the kindness and sincerity. We are glad to have chosen this...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

“The ground floor apartment in which we stayed was the most affordable. Inevitably, being at ground level there was some noise from the road, but this was hardly problematic. I assume that the higher floors have a better view, but the ground floor was convenient and well priced.”

“Actually stayed in August, 2013, but am only writing the review now, as I am catching up on my backlog of reviews that I have to do. The system only allows me to put October, 2013 as the earliest I stayed. We had the top room, with spectacular views of the water and the Old City. Really spectacular. Zeyneb, the manager, was also very helpful. The room has a lot of character, the air conditioning worked very well and so did the WiFi. This is not a place for businessmen or older people to stay, however. There is no breakfast, though there are shops right down the street. However, the main issue is that you have to walk up a very big hill to get to the hotel if you take the tram to Tophane or you have to walk up a hill to get to the Sishane metro. The hotel is down a trendy street, but is very quiet. Taxis may have trouble finding it if they don't use their GPS. If you don't mind not getting breakfast and you don't mind the walk up hills, this is a very nice place to spend a few days and I wholeheartedly recommend the top floor with the great views!”
