It was difficult to miss the smell emanating from the room bathroom. I had to sleep with the window open both nights. The hotel managment's solution was to come up and spray perfume in the room and bathroom. Mine was not the only room. Met several travellers who had asked to move rooms for the same reason.

Perfect location if you want to explore Istanbul (Blue Mosque, Haga Sofia etc). Friendly staaf which helps you with arrangements, though…it is probably cheaper to make arrangements through Tourist information. Breakfirst is ok - everything you need but not first-rate. Nice rooms in modern style. Located near Tramway Station "Sultanahmet", which makes it easy to go and from Airport. From... More

A great first experience in Istanbul. I originally checked into a less than satisfactory hotel nearby and wanted to switch the next night. They had a room and were so kind to my parents who were visiting. The staff was great and when we decided to stay an extra night they didn't have a room but found us a suitable... More

We spent seven nights at this hotel in early December and had an excellent experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the breakfasts were all well prepared and varied each day, the location is excellent, the rooms were clean and of adequate size and the price was moderate. The Burckin Hotel is not five star luxury; but, it is... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
