We spent 4 nights at Stray Cat and we loved it. Our room looked a museum with the beautiful paintings on the wall. Sedat and the whole crew are very friendly, helpful and they give you all of the information what you need. If you stay here once, then you want to come back. The cats are amazing, you will...

We had a double room for ourselves, it was designed by an artist and so it was colourful and really cosy. The common room housed around 5 kittens that were all really friendly and adorable! The staff were really friendly and helpful, didn't even mind us checking out 2 hours late. Possibly the best hostel I've stayed at!

The best part about the hostel are the little kittens. I could have spent the entire day sitting in the common room area with the kittens. We had booked a double private room but due to a mix up we were provided a dormitory entirely to ourselves. There were no towels, so we had to request them. The wall art...

I spent a week at the Stray Cat and I was very happy with my choice; location is perfect, you can reach anything very easily by tram, ferry or walk to Taksim in 5 minutes uphill. The environment is relaxed and friendly, breakfast is good, tea and coffee available all day, and I loved the company of the cats in...

Stay here if you like cats! Urs (have I spelled that right?) and his colleagues where really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty, the shower was good and hot, the room decorated in a bohemian kind of style. This hostel is located very close to Taksim Square, the center of the modern quarter of Istanbul, but the neighbourhood was quiet enough to enjoy a good sleep. The room was basic but really clean, breakfast was abundant, included in the price. The best from this hostel is the stuff. Excellent, helpful and nice people. Deffinitely, recommended. Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
