-The hotel's location is very good. It is few minutes walk of the touristic area of sultanahmet and the tramvay station of sultanahmet. -The view from the terrace room at the roof was beautiful ( it over looks Aya Sofia and the sea). -It is a budget hotel in case if you will stay in dorm rooms. -Wifi was working...

Slightly dodgy, they want cash before showing the rooms, so you should insist on an inspection first to see if it is up to standard and insist on a receipt as most of the staff have poor English and may not acknowledge payment at check out. It is noisy at night due to thin walls and smokey as staff smoke...

The staff is very nice, very helpful, they can help you with any kind of information regarding the city or your stay there. Breakfast food is average, but you are very close to everything so you can go and eat wherever you like. The location is perfect, just behind the Blue Mosque, the price is low for this kind of...

Our plans changed and we found ourselves in Istanbul 2 days ahead of schedule. Unable to connect to wi-fi at the airport we decided to head to the hotel we had reserved for later that week. Finding our hotel completely booked the receptionist made some calls and quickly found us a room at the nearby Serenity Hotel which I believe...

We booked to stay here for 7 nights. We arrived at the hotel and owner told us the aircon in the room was broken and we had to stay at his friends hotel for a night, then come back in the morning (turns out he had just overbooked the hotel, a common problem if you read other reviews). The next...

When staying at the Gloria Golf Resort in May I took time out to visit the Serenity on recommendation and was not disappointed at what I saw. The Gloria was marvellous but I am convinced that next year's booking at the Serenity will surpass it. I know it is a bit strange to comment on a hotel that I have...

We initially booked the hotel on the basis that the location was brilliant for what we had in mind. As we arrived the manager was very welcoming and helped us to organise transport for the airport to make sure we had the right airport we showed him our tickets and he charged us accordingly. Once we were showed to our...

I stayed with my family for 5 days. Location was awesome, 10 mins from all sightseeing places in Sultan Ahmet area. Didn't complaint to manager because price was good. I booked room for three people, but they gave us room with double bed and just added additional bed to it. It was already small and it made it even smaller....

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff were rude and unhelpful. They argued with my family at a loud volume which attracted other guests to see what was going on. No apology at all from this hotel for how my family were treated. The rooms are really small and the bathroom had mould in it. Health and Safety is...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
