The location was great! However, the rooms were so small that you couldn't put your suitcase in the room with you. We also asked for rooms close together and we were first offered a room on the first floor and the fifth. So, we had to take a smaller room to be near our children.

On arrival we were put into a twin room on the second floor. I had booked 2 months previous and thankfully had my 'double' room booking details with me. I was initially told that I could not change rooms until the following day, however with a little persistence I was offered a room on the 6th floor. This was, however,...

This gem hidden in Sultanhamet is a real deal. Minutes a walking distance from main attractions, surrounded by that ineffable air of old Istanbul. Courteous front desk service, otherwise friendly staff. Decent kitchen service, always free delicious chai (tea). Special thanks to the guy in charge of the kitchen. Small but cozy rooms. Clean place, room serviced every other day....

The best that can be said about this little hotel is its location. In fact, it is located in a very quiet street, 2 minutes away from the tram´s line. For Sultanahmet Place, you have to walk just 10 minutes, and the same time to the Grand Bazar... The rooms are quite simple and small but for the price you...

Thoroughly enjoyed our 9-night stay here. The service was good, and they were very accommodating when we requested an early check-out (due to a change in travel plans). The room was clean, and room service did a good job every day. New, clean towels, clean bedding, etc. The air conditioner was excellent (could customise temperature), which was very important in...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
