Let me start with the welcome. We arrived at 5AM and were allowed to go straight into our room despite the official check in time being in the afternoon. We'd travelled all night and were exhausted so this opportunity for a quick nap and a shower before tackling the city was invaluable. By letting us do this they effectively gave... More

This was our first stop on a 3 week trip to Europe and what a beginning. Everyone affiliated with the hotel was eager to see to our every need. They learned our names, greeted us on the streets (seemed like we had friends all over the place!). We had a triple room and it was perfectly comfortable and clean. The... More

Our stay at the Ares Hotel was wonderful. The staff (especially Kadir and Ayhan) were very nice and the breakfast was delicious. Every morning the staff asked us what the plan was for the day and if they could help us find anything. We took them up on the offer a few times and didn't regret it (especially for taxis).... More

In the heart of Istanbul's tourist area, Ares is very close to some main Istanbul sights. Unfortunately, that was all that this hotel had going for it. Crumby room, smelly bathroom, no screens on the windows so I got lots of mosquito bites at night. Would not return.

Ares Hotel is located at an ideal location just near to Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Tokapi and other ancient sites. Stay is very comfortable duly supported by an equally professional staff, not to only make my stay comfortable in the hotel but were also very helpful in arranging our trips to different locations. They are really very professional

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
